went to atco last night, only made a couple passes
previous best 15.01 @ 95 2.18 60'
new best 14.80 @ 97 2.33 60' it was spinning bad and 68 degrees out on that pass (about 5:45 pm)
i wanted to make another pass when it was in the 40's but it was a mad house there last night
all i did was give it a tune up (new plugs and wires )that was driving it in right off the street with no cool down time , it didn't run any different cooling it down , i think i can get a 14.6? out of it , but by the time i run it again i'll have some stuff done to it
how big of a p.i.t.a. is it to change the driver side valve cover gasket , it looks like the top (near the intake ) has dropped down and has a small oil leak at high rpms

The driver's side Valve cover is easy to un-bolt, but you will have some clearence issues with the brake booster/lines. easiest thing to do is jack up the driver's side of the motor an inch, and it will come off.

what model do you drive (yr? LSC/base?)

it didn't look to terrible to do , but i was wondering if it would slide past the booster
its a 1993 base model , 3.08 open rear
i just put it up on the lift and noticed the rear sway bar is broken in half ...lol i wonder if it would hook up better with out a broken sway bar

The drivers side is the worst Ken. Unbolt the master and bend it up and out of the way. Then you have to arm yourself with some prybars and stratigically jack the engine up via the balancer (GENTLY) with a piece of wood to angle the engine to get the valvecover off.

Thats strange that you state it fell in. I have now idea how this can happen since its a rail gasket.

thanks blackout , i'll probably be there most thursdays , no more tuesdays to many cars
it looked like it was an o-ring type gasket or something like that , but about in the middle of the engine i can see an open space between the valve cover and the head

the $5000 for lypo would maybe loose a tenth , i would rather invest that into a blower or turbo or something
