The founder of facebook gave mega millions to charity today.
My question is, how did this young kid become a billionaire owning facebook?
I don't belong too facebook, but I know it's free to join, so how is facebook making it's money to propell this dude into being a billionare?

Venture capital and data mining. He's not donating real money, he's donating stock in the company.

And advertising revenue.

He's worth that according to analysts, based primarily on the value of his stock in Facebook. Of course, Facebook is a private company, so they pretty much pulled that "net worth" figure out of their butts, once again putting the "anal" in "analyst."
Obviously, his stake in Facebook is worth something, but, until he sells out or the company goes public, any number attached to it is simply a guess.

exactly its all about what it "could" be worth. It does have ad revenue but if his company ever goes public, look at him probably surpassing Gates and Buffet as the richest. If hes worth that much on a privately owned company can you imagine if the stocks have value.
