ASMBLYLINE September 22nd, 2010, 06:40 PM So im driving my 97 and I start to hear a slight engine noise. It was so slight I had to turn the radio off to hear it but it was there. So I immediatly pulled it in the garage, yanked and disassembled the motor to check it out. I found a few imperfections in the block and a wierd substance in the pan but not sure if these are my issue. If you guys have any input i would really appreciate it cause autozone is only open for another hour and a half and i need to get to work tomorrow!

NoLimit95 September 22nd, 2010, 06:54 PM If JB Weld don't do it, I can send you some gorilla tape. Should do the trick and fix that right up. It might take a bit of patience though. :p
LaserSVT September 22nd, 2010, 07:00 PM I like the story!
But holy cow! Thats gnarly.
htrdlincoln98 September 22nd, 2010, 07:15 PM If that little issue is too much for you to fix I'll take it. Also need a solid backup:eek:
Roadboss September 22nd, 2010, 07:18 PM Should have turned the radio louder and kept driving!! Would have been easier to remove--being in smaller pieces and all.
StrykerV8 September 22nd, 2010, 07:19 PM Everything looks to be in order
danny_holtermann September 22nd, 2010, 07:19 PM that is nothing to worry about, i would keep running it that way
LaserSVT September 22nd, 2010, 07:29 PM Should use less fuel now. Also run a bit cooler with the air cooled crank case.
ASMBLYLINE September 22nd, 2010, 08:48 PM All you guys are clowns!!! Ya so I bought this car for 300 bucks with a blown engine. I call the dude I bought it from to congratulate him on grenading the motor so well and acted like he wasn't aware of the carnage! I guess he thought I'd be mad or sumptin. He said he thought he spun a bearing! I can just imagine what this sounded like at 5 or so thousand rpm's
BAD97LSC September 22nd, 2010, 10:01 PM put it back in and try that castrol gtx high mileage oil that :q:q:q:q is the bomb!! it will make that thing purrrrrrrrrrrrr
