My rear, I mean LS's rear started to make metal grinding noise few days ago.
I checked all the brakes, all fine.
checked all parts of suspension, fine.
jacked it up, had the car running, no noise.
soon as it's back down, driving, metal grinding noise.
transmission, maybe? Cant quite locate the noise.
so it's in the dealer, it's under warrantee.
Im driving their grand marquis. It's huge...
but anyway, I'll find out what it was and let you all know in case any of you have the same problem.

sounds like what lsbit went through. IIRC he had to replace a gear in the differential and some bearings. There is a thread here some where covering the work.

Yes, As many of you have suspected, it was the wheel bearing.
It's getting replaced and I should have her back by tomorrow.
until then Im stuck driving this boat.
at least it's very comfy.
