I see Prarie Hill is open tonight and the weather is perfect so gonna go see what this POS will do. Racing starts at 7PM and I have to pick up Sapperfire since his cars down so that I will have a camera man.

Hope all goes well and shes at least in the 13's

If you can't hit the 13's with that car then you are a complete failure at life. I'm guessing you have a traction limited 13.2-13.4 at 110-112. Hopefully it is faster than my guess.

Gotta remember, I am a fat ass and there is a full sound system as well as tools in the car. Plus the heavy wheels and all will reduce my times. I aint expecting much. If it ran as fast as Driller then I will be jumping for joy!

Not makein fun butt wouldn't it be wise to take the speakers box / tools out maybe some other weight reduction maybe rear seats. Hey every weight counts. Just or got sap xtra and slap the two spares on the front.

YAY we got 13s!!!!! Hurry up and load the video biatch!!! I was so
impressed not by just the runs he made, but mostly the ammount of people walking by and stopping and asking questions about
it and complimenting it's looks. It was a great time, can't wait to have mine up and running again soon

the last pass of the night against an alcohol dragster, totally nuts ....and I totally couldn't believe that one of the 2 of you ran a 8.6 in that 1/4...lol

Driller--no weigh station there, they didn't even do tech inspections, its an outlaw track

Don't want to weight reduce the car as I want real numbers. I couldn't remove the tools or cooler cause I didn't have anywhere to leave them.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun tonight. Track was down for a bit due to a Camaro exploding and oiling down the track but other then that it was pretty cool. I got a big head with all the compliments the car got and the general surprise that it was as fast as it is. It didn't run as fast as I had hoped but it did run great and consistent. Launches were very hard as I had to launch at idle and roll on the throttle. Could only muster 2.1X 60' times with the best of 2.125 seconds. Car clicked off a couple 9.02 and 9.07 1/8th times at 78 MPH but my best 1/4 time was a 13.93 @ 98 MPH.
I believe with drag radials and a 1200-1300 RPM launch that I could see mid 13's.

I am uploading a video now and will post it soon.

Do you have the boost turned down low? Just wondering because my 94 ran 97.21 MPH bone dead stock, but probably in better conditions.

The MPH and ET are consistent with the sixty foot times IMHO. You may actually have had higher trap speeds on runs with more tire spin.

I've always found it extremely difficult to roll into the throttle to maintain traction. It's easier to just buy tires. :p

Anywho, congrats on the 13s for the maiden outing! :D

yes, congrats, atleast it wasnt in the 14's on its 1st day.that would suck

Yes there were many factors here. No room to avoid the water, no way to launch higher then idle, no way to instantly go WOT. I only made two 1/4 mile runs and the rest was 1/8. The first run I had let out right before the timing boxes and on the last run I couldnt let the car cool enough cause the line was moving fast. I launched with a 172* IAT and by mid track I had a 230* IAT. That put me down on power by a large margin and I could feel 3rd gear not pulling like it could.

I really need to get a meth kit.

I am running a weight (with driver) thats about 400lbs greater then you were. And yes, boost peaked at 7.4psi.

Its funny you say that. I was never expecting the times you run with my setup but it would have been cool had it ran a low 13. :D

Anyway on that run in the first video I had quite a bit of spin off the line and again into second gear. Car pulled a 9.02 in the 1/8th but said trap speed was 90mph!
I assumed it was an error on the timing system........ actually it had to be. Cant see a 12mph gain in the 1/8th like that.

driller

Picture tire spin like a slingshot. What you loose in ET can be turned into more MPH sometimes.

And here is my run against a 94 5.0 GT thats "Stock with a bad trans and no traction" claimed the owner. I lost by .05 but it was a run when they said dont run 1/4 so I let out before the end and pulled a 14.25

Very Good and thanks for sharing. I'am still looking for a good drag radial tire wheel combo to take mine to the track. I was hoping to find two 17" by 9" wheels for mine because I have a set of 275-40-17 Mickey Thompsons.

I was 310 pounds at the time, so I don't know exactly how much more your weight with the car really is even with all of the junk. Mespock owns the car now, I should probably have him weight it. Anyway, take the crap out next time!!! With gears and a roots blower I am amazed you can get any traction at all. Some real tires and weight reduction and it should scream.

Next time I wount have the tools and cooler in it but everything else stays. It was so much fun and so cheap that I will do it again very soon. The car could not of behaved any better. I kept an eagle eye on AFR and data logged it all. Cars acceleration rate never changed and the knock sensors never pulled a single degree out and usually added 4-5* and boost was always below 8psi. The car is very safe. Only thing is I cant leave it running in the staging lanes with a closed hood cause it just builds up too much heat in the plenum.

Now that I feel the car is solid and safe on the track I will try some proper launces on the street tires. Gonna be a long time till I can afford drag radials. I would love a set but have other things that will require all my cash. :(
Anyway if I bring the RPM up a hair I think I can hit a 2.0 60' time. Every launch was off idle, wasnt even breathing on the go pedal.

If you have enuff tire couldn't you do less air pressure in the tire. To bad your stock rim don't fit.

Good grief.

You cant just drop air pressure on a street radial and expect it to hook. They have the best bite at the recommended air pressure.
I don't have my stock wheels any more. If I did then the REARS would fit and I would throw a drag radial on them....... whenever I could afford them.

Maybe if you could do a better burnout. Your tires would be hotter/sticker. Some brand tire do good with less tire pressure. Sappefire has a xtra set of oem wheels don't he.

Once again, you are missinformed. A street tire will only get greasy by doing a long burn out. I only do a short one to clean off the tire and shed the water, not to heat it up.

Its slicks or Drag Radials that benifit from heating them up.

No, Sapperfire does not have extra wheels.

Nice to see you got it to the track. That's a good number to start. You should have plenty room to improve from there. New street tires should get you low 13 or 12s, they did for me. I noticed a huge loss in traction when the tire got about 1 yo. That meth kit will be the ticket to the 12s. Hope you keep at it, its fun....
