in first and second gear, my car seems to be jumpy with acceleration, real uneven. ive had problems before of misfiring, but this time the check engine light isnt coming on. Could this be fixed with bosch +4 platinums or is it somethin else

Sounds familiar. Had a similar problem back in Feb. with my 03 Sport. (See thread early Feb. - I think). Problem was exacerbated by cold weather. One day in March the tach started jumping on easy acceleration on a light grade and slipping from a normal start. Solution -- the local LM dealer replaced the solenoid packs, valve body and reprogrammed the PCM. Now it runs like it was supposed to. It was warranty work but I believe that the costs would have been around a thousand $ if Ford had not covered the cost.
Good luck. Linclonlov

well I have to agree with lincolnlov. I have an 00 LS V6 and my tranny problems were not settled until the replaced SP and VB. The SP had been replaced 3 other times and the pcm had been reflashed in 01. I think the VB holds the key to setting things straight.
You very well could have a bad coil or two as well. Do you have the V6 or V8?

V8, i just got the coils replaced, seems to delay in shifting in reverse too if that helps

oh yeah. the valve body and solenoid pack fail and result in some vibration, harsh and/or delayed shifting.
