Since I'm a taller guy, I drive with the seat all the way back and the wheel out just about an inch. Its a comfortable position for me. Usually, when it is before dark, i run with my parking lamps and fogs lamps on because it looks cool. Otherwise at day; nothing and at night; headlights. I just bought some slyvania silverstar headlights that look great too.

The silver star looks great in the fog lights too. Get the high beam, the 9005 They are a perfect fit for the 9145 fog light lamp

I hate people who drive around with their fog lights on. It's even more pathetic that some have admitted they do it because they believe it looks better.

I drive with the seat all the way back, and the steering wheel all the way out, but even that's not enough. It needs another inch of travel. I like the seat up kinda high because it allows me to bend my knees more, which helps given the close proximity of the dead pedal. I wish it could be removed leaving just flat floor.

And at night, I just use my headlights. Factory headlights.

I drive with the regular headlights. I'll turn the brights on when I need them.

My wife drives like Ted Kennedy and the liquor store is closing in 5 mins.

I hate when people drive with their headlights on when it isn't dark enough out because it tends to blind me, however, I realize that some people are half-blind when driving and need to see lights to know a car is on the road, so I drive with my fogs on when it is raining or when it is slightly dark out. When it is dark, I drive with the fogs and headlights. Where I live, the fogs REALLY help to see the road. I drive a lot of twisty back roads where the lines are gone, or were never painted.

Oh...and yes, it looks cool with the fog lights on. I think those are actually driving lights, as real fog lights would be yellow anyway.

Drive with headlights and fogs on all day. I have yellow bulbs in the fogs and at night I see a good amount more than just the headlights alone. Plus I like how they look!

my lights are set to auto w\fog lamps set to turn on when it gets dark. My wipers are set to auto as well. Face it we bought the car becasue of the gimmicks so I employ them every day rather at night or when raining.

Got any night shots with the yellow fogs? I like the way that looks on the Lexus cars with HIDs, but its hard to find good quality yellow bulbs.

Oh yea, and I drive with just the fogs on when the sun starts to go down. I happen to like the way it looks and don't see how that's pathetic.

I drive with my headlights, fogs, inside lights, a green neon light inside and rear back up lights on all the time...day or night. argue2 j/k
I actually do drive with the fogs and headlights..it looks better esp with my xenon heads and fogs. And I think it does help the more light u have on the road the better (barring ur driving with brights against incoming traffic). This was proven to me yesterday after driving on a side road. I was taking a turn and when i came out of it I saw about 5 deer hanging out next to the road. The fogs do provide an advantage.

I drive in the "Italian" position, seat as low as possible, leaned back and steering extended.

I use my lights when it is dark and my fogs when it is foggy or raining.

Oh, I drive like a bat out of hell.

My motto is this:
If you are driving slower than me you are an idiot. If you are driving faster than me you are insane.

I don't usually have the fogs on because they don't match the HID's. I have the seat all the way back(6'3"), the wheel all the way in (don't like sitting too close to it). I use the SST every now and thenor when I'm bored, but mainly just the Auto.

I drive with every possible light on at any time during the day/night :). I also have my 3000 watt system on full blast with my limo tinted windows down just a crack to allow the sound to rattle your mirrors but still block visibility inside my car so you can't see me staring or doing whatever motion i can with my hands. I also drive close enough to the car infront of me so that i can see my angel eyes in the reflection. Seat all the way back and steering wheel back aswell.

^ LOL ^

I'm always fiddling with the steering wheel settings... when it's low enough to drive with my knees then I can't see the speedo... high enough to see the speedo then I can't drive with my knees while eating and talking on my cell phone.

I drive the streets in D4 and only shift to D5 when I'm consistently over 55... usually on the freeway on ramp. This is a habit formed from driving another fine FoMoCo product with a weak overdrive assembly, I figure every hunting shift that it doesn't do in and out of OD at 45 mph is one more that I might get out of it later.

When I'm stuck in traffic I use the SST and lock it in 3rd or 4th depending on the average speed of the traffic because when in D4 or D5 the constant 1-2-3 shifting with minimal throttle input feels like I'm driving a tractor. :Bang

I drive pretty normal now, my seat back is even w/ the pillar or between the the front and rear doors. My wheel is almost all the way out and down slightly, lumbar is almost all the way out due to back problems that result in neckaches, which bring on bad headaches. My LS has driving lights that I hate because during the day I do not want light, unless its my parking lights (looks good on "dark" days or just before its dark). At night I of course turn on my headlights, and use the fog lights often because like already stated, it looks better and you get better visibility (helps to spot holes better).

I try to not look "gangsta" while driving because I think its looks totally stupid. Even though I guess having your left foot out the window, the seat leaned back so you are practically laying down and can just barely see over the dash is cool, I just chose to not do that and have people laughing even though I could care less. If you are one of these people who drive like that, than thats fine, your choice I guess.

I've finally toned down on gasing it all the time because gas is expensive. But when I get on the hwy sometimes I like to get it over 100. Highest I've gotten it to was 115 showing a neon what a real care can do. Funny watching/listening to him bounce off the limiter though. Where does the LS "hit the wall"?

Nope. The difference between fog lights and driving lights is the pattern they throw, not the color of the lenses or lamps. Fog lights have a pattern that's designed to avoid high reflections--ie, they scatter light low along the road.

And, quite frankly, speaking as someone who lives in a rural area with often poorly lit and not well-marked roads, I think the fog lights are much more of an annoyance to the oncoming traffic than a help in driving.

hmmm...oncoming foglights dont bother me one bit! maybe my surgically enhanced 20/20 vision has something to do with that. have you had an eye exam lately??? :N :joke
we have lots of unlit forest preserve roads out by me, and i think the fogs help alot. i checked the other day to see what a difference, and they do kind of help. LOTS of DEER around here!!!

the only lights that bother me are the REALLY BRIGHT blueish new car HID's (especially on an SUV, where they are right at eye level with me)

not trying to be a jerk, just thought i'd add some fuel to the fire. :dancefool

These lights are usually the $7.99 eBay lights. Even if aimed properly, they appear very bright due to the glare they produce. Unlike our factory headlights which have a sharp cutoff, these cheap aftermarket lights throw glare everywhere.

I've had my eyes checked, and the prescription's the same as it was last time: damn near legally blind. Thank God for hi-index polycarbonate lenses. :) I looked into lasik, but my astigmatism's not in the cornea, so I'm not a candidate. :(

We have lots of deer around here, too; I have quite a few hoofprints in my front yard. (I have some nice pictures of my wild turkeys milling around my truck, too.) A few months ago, I had a deer run across in front of me, then run along the road beside me--they're not the bightest bulbs in the chandelier. :)

And it's entirely possible that the LS has driving lights instead of fogs (I don't have the manual handy), which will make a difference. But, IIRC, driving lights are supposed to be treated light high-beams WRT oncoming traffic.

It occurred to me that I hadn't really checked the fog lights, so I did on the way home tonight. They are incredibly bright, and definitely fog lights (at least on my '04), with excellent fill between the car and the low-beams. What I did notice was that the fill on the sides is really in a location that's not important--anything that happens there is either going to happen on the road behind you, or it's too close for you to react.

But that's just my opinion; drive as you see fit. I don't think they help me under normal conditions (in fact, the bright lights up close seem to decrease the effective sight distance for me), so I don't use them under those conditions--but if they help you drive more safely, by all means, go for it.
