Spark plugs....Santo March 30th, 2005, 05:49 PM I'm going to do my tune up this weekend... is there such thing as performance plugs for the mark 8? What are the best performance plugs that i can get and where can I get them? :monkey: Joeychgo March 30th, 2005, 06:13 PM Autolite 764 spark plugs is what most recommend. Most people will also advise against the platimum plugs. MonsterMark March 30th, 2005, 07:06 PM Depends on Mods. Some guys go a step colder, things like that. Me, I would rather change them out more frequently and the Autolites for a $1/pc at WallyMart are hard to beat. 1wykdmk8 March 30th, 2005, 07:36 PM I run the Lightning plugs with the 9MM Ford Racing Wires. The part number for the Lightning plugs (which are 2 steps colder) is AWSFA-12C. I got them from Max at 5 Star Ford (both the plugs and wires) 1-800-866-1520 ext. 236 and you can NOT beat his prices. The plugs normally were $3.59 each and I got them for WAY under half and the wires are like $140 and I got them for $105. The crappy Auto Zone 8MM wires are more than that. :Beer JC1994 March 30th, 2005, 08:44 PM I'm going to do my tune up this weekend... is there such thing as performance plugs for the mark 8? Markviiiedrea March 30th, 2005, 09:38 PM well as far as the platnum plugs i have the bosch plat 4 and have not had a problem with them.(unless thats why I'm so slow at the track?) and the 9mm ford raceing wires vary good , got mine from a performance store down here cuz i cant wait for wires while the car was broken, i got them 120. ONEBADMK8 March 30th, 2005, 09:59 PM I run the Autolite 764 coppers gapped at .048 in ALL my Marks as well as customers too. Including the Superchrged SuperMark. MonsterMark March 30th, 2005, 10:07 PM well as far as the platnum plugs i have the bosch plat 4 and have not had a problem with them.My 2nd gen wouldn't start in cold weather with the bosch plugs. Switched them out with the Autolites and bingo. Starts before I turn the key. 94m5 March 30th, 2005, 10:14 PM I run the single electrode Bosch platinums, .048 on the gap. I've never had a problem with them. Mike shill1234 March 31st, 2005, 09:13 PM I just put in the NGK iridium plugs and it seems to be running great so far. | |||||
