Check engine light on, until.....

My check engine light comes on, until I turn on the climate control. Strange. Vacuum issue?

Nope, if there were a vacuum leak, you will not have a CE light on in such sercamstances. Can you read the trouble codes?

Prolly an IAC problem. Need to go to Autozone and have them run their scanner on it. Bet its an IAC overspeed code.

Mine is a 1995. It is throwing DPFE codes. I'll fix it later. Funny how the climate control does that.

ford has a known problem with the DPFE. not sure on a gen 1 but i think it on the back of the drivers head. small metal box prob 1" tall and 3" wide 3 wire kinda oval connector, and 2 rubber hoses coming out of the bottom that run to your egr tube. ford has a TSB saying any erg flow codes replace that sensor and if needed the 2 hoses first
