Stock GT500 X pipe1994MarkVIII July 23rd, 2010, 01:53 PM Will this fit in my 94 mark VIII? It looks like it will fit perfect but I want some more opinions. Thanks Icarus July 23rd, 2010, 03:12 PM Do you have dual exhaust in it? You'd need to measure to be sure, it may fit if you do... 1994MarkVIII July 23rd, 2010, 04:33 PM Yeah I am planning on doing a full exhaust. 1994MarkVIII July 23rd, 2010, 04:49 PM Does anyone else know for sure it will work? I need to know ASAP because I can get one cheap if I do it today or tomorrow. This is what it looks basically looks like. http://www.lethalperformance.com/07-09-shelby-gt500-exhaust-mid-pipes-lethal-performance-c-2052_2057_6829_7658/lethal-performance-07-09-gt500-offroad-x-pipe-no-cats-p-30008 Angel12 July 23rd, 2010, 05:03 PM Sounds sweet ! k9t8m July 23rd, 2010, 06:08 PM holy crap thats alot of money. You can get an x pipe for like $60. danny_holtermann July 23rd, 2010, 06:16 PM damnthats a lot, when you say cheap i hope you mean 20 bucks 1994MarkVIII July 23rd, 2010, 06:41 PM I can get it for $100 brand new. I was going to get a universal magnaflow but I seen this and I heard it works on our marks. I just want to make sure it will work before I go and buy it. Sapperfire July 23rd, 2010, 08:13 PM Work, yes...reasonable,no Angel12 July 23rd, 2010, 08:16 PM 100 bucks ! why are you asking for lol! Why really!! Starch July 23rd, 2010, 08:21 PM damm that sounds brutal!! hope it works out for you 1994MarkVIII July 23rd, 2010, 08:59 PM im going to give it a try. I know it might be pricey but its actually not a stock gt500 x pipe. I found out its the aftermarket one i posted above and its brand new. Its cattless so i most likely will keep it that way and put some magnaflow mufflers on it. i dont feel like cutting the x to put cats in. NoLimit95 July 23rd, 2010, 09:09 PM I have an actual stock GT500 X-Pipe laying in the trunk of my car. Not sure if what you're looking at will work or not but if you'll just get the actual X, it will. Let the exhaust people do the piping for it. 1994MarkVIII July 25th, 2010, 09:29 AM So I went and got the X pipe last night. Looks like it will work perfect. Now I am planning on putting new o2 sensors in when I bring it to get put in. How many o2 sensors do our cars have? 1994MarkVIII July 25th, 2010, 10:16 AM ^^^ I didn't want to sound dumb about asking how many our cars have lol. I'm pretty sure its 2 but I just want to make sure. The x pipe I bought has 3 holes for o2 sensors. NoLimit95 July 25th, 2010, 12:57 PM It's 2 1994MarkVIII July 25th, 2010, 02:30 PM Ok. I see in the search that there are big debates over motorcraft and bosch. I most likely will get motorcraft since they are OEM. What should I do about the 3rd hole for the 3rd o2 sensor that I guess the gt500s have? Nolimit is the 3rd hole for an o2 sensor or am i confusing in for something else? I figured Id ask you since you have a stock gt500 x pipe in your trunk. slowmkviii July 25th, 2010, 02:32 PM the 3rd hole is fore a wide band o2 1994MarkVIII July 25th, 2010, 02:40 PM Do I need the wide band o2 sensor for the x pipe installation or can i just somehow plug that hole? slowmkviii July 25th, 2010, 03:07 PM you can plug it but it comes in handy for tuning 1994MarkVIII July 25th, 2010, 03:09 PM Do our cars have the wide band or is that something id have to put in? 1994MarkVIII July 25th, 2010, 03:59 PM Here I took the picture of my X pipe and put arrows showing where I think my stock o2 sensors that are already in my car should go. The other hole I most likely will just plug to make things easier. http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx151/1994MarkVIII/offroad-1.jpg NoLimit95 July 26th, 2010, 01:06 AM Alright, I'm just taking a big guess here but from what I'm looking at, you'll be plugging all three of those holes up because your 02's are going to be before your high flow cats which are way up higher than what I'm seeing here in this pic. Yes, I would highly suggest going with Motorcraft 02's and you only need two of them. I got mine from rockauto.com for half the price of a local Ford dealer and $20 cheaper than 2 Bosch from AZ. Some here have never had a problem with Bosch 02's but some have and why chance it when the real thing is out there cheap enough? rockauto will have them to you in 2 days. 1994MarkVIII July 26th, 2010, 07:44 AM This is an offroad x pipe so there is not going to be any cats. Since there aren't going to be any cats this pipe still includes the spot for the o2 sensors to still be in place. Now I was thinking, our cars have 2 front and 2 rear sensors right? Could I just do this to get all the front and rear sensors in this pipe, where the blue arrows are put the 2 front sensors in and where the red arrows are put the rear sensors in. I would have to get a shop to make another spot but would it work? http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx151/1994MarkVIII/offroad-2.jpg This is all getting confusing but I want to make sure everything goes right when it gets installed. slowmkviii July 26th, 2010, 09:18 AM Obd 1 only needs 2 o2s 1994MarkVIII July 26th, 2010, 10:57 AM Ok so then I will use only the 2 sensors and just plug the remaining hole. topher5150 July 26th, 2010, 11:53 AM Hate to hi-jack, but looking at the pics of that x-pipe and comparing it to my "home made" exhaust shop, hillbilly special, how much of a difference would there be between the two. the guy who did mine took four pieces of curved pipe cut an angle on the ends and welded them together NoLimit95 July 26th, 2010, 12:40 PM Ok so then I will use only the 2 sensors and just plug the remaining hole. Yes, if no cats are going to be in the system at all. You only have two 02's in the front and none in the rear. I'm really not sure how the two bent pipes with a hole cut in each and welded is going to help or sound, for the Mark I should say. Without cats in the front or rear, the system is going to be looking and may be needing proper equalization from both sides. Just be prepared for a sound that you might not like and reduced HP but I'm no exhaust expert either, so don't quote me on that lol. I can just say that I said it. What you bought is for a 5.4 and it's about to be installed on a 4.6 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BBK-Short-X-Pipe-2-3-4-W-Cats-07-10-GT-500-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5190b0197bQQitemZ35031 9810939QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries That's the X that I have but without the cats and piping. I have the X pipe only but not installed. Some on the site here use dual X pipes for better equalization and pressure and some claim more HP but again, I don't know how yours will turn out Keep us posted and if possible, throw a video up on youtube of the sound. I'm curious. 1994MarkVIII July 26th, 2010, 02:10 PM I'm hoping this will work fine. After the x pipe im going to have the mandrel bent system and then mufflers out back. I dont see anything bad happening but also I most likely wont see power gains but that doesnt bother me. I just want to get my lincoln sounding nice with my own custom exhaust. :) Thanks for the help guys. | |||||
