LaserSVT June 27th, 2010, 08:57 PM Just looking for a general consensus on this. I always figured the wideband needs to go ahead of the cat but remember whan they tuned it at Gearheads they used the second O2 location for their sensor. Gonna check with gearheads on this tomorrow but do you guys think I should have another bung welded in before the cat or just run it in the second hole since I will be turning off them in the tune anyway?

philly0420 June 27th, 2010, 09:40 PM Not 100% sure but I would think you could use the rear 02 bung. With them turned off in the tune, it should be fine. You see mustangs running mil eliminators all the time, so why not. If its no good, you can change it. I think it will be fine. I looked at Mark once and the rear bungs were welded shut and the o2s slung over the tranny. Needless to say I didn't buy it.

LaserSVT June 27th, 2010, 09:48 PM Uh you guys are missing an important part here it seems. You are both looking at level of ease. I will be fine tuning the drive ability of my car which is the reason for putting a wideband in it. If I am tuning the car to get it as close to lean as possible without actually going lean then shouldn't I be sampling BEFORE the remaining fuel is catalyzed?

and yes, it should be measured pre cat

MediumD June 28th, 2010, 04:39 AM A cat is designed to (amongst other things) convert nitrogen oxides into nitrogen and oxygen. So yeah, it can screw with the WBO2 reading.

and a cheap 02 bung is a 18mm spark plug non-fouler at any parts store in the HELP section. just cut the bottom off and you are good to go.

The gauge comes with a bung.
