Swapping '94 door onto a '98

I want to use the door from my old '94 to repair my '98. What parts from the '98 will have to be swapped over to the '94 door (besides the door panel and the outside rub strip)? Or would it be better to just get a '98 door?

Door handle, if you have chrome one and want to keep it. All the electric components as well, but not the window motor, which is the same.

The only reason you would have to "swap" the wiring is because there is no connector like in most other cars. You'll see what I mean when you go to take the door off. As for the components themselves you will have to swap out the interior door handle from your old door in order to get the gen 2 door panel to fit.

I want to use the Gen 1 door shell and put all the Gen 2 parts on it. Is this possible?

Are the inside door handles in the same position? Or do I have to drill new holes?

same position you will basically have to take everything out of the inside of the 98 door and move it to the 94 door.

The sheet metal of the doors in both Gen1 and Gen2 are completely the same. Window glass, door glass top run, window motor are same too.

What's wrong with the 98 door? My friend's 97 LSC has a rust problem (well, hole) in the bottom of the door, we have a replacement from a 1st gen but I'm trying to decide if it would be easier to swap all the crap or just cut and weld the necessary metal...

My car was sideswiped by a drunk driver Sunday night.

The body shop said they could fix the quarter with a patch panel. I messed up the fender trying to get the door open. I was kinda pissed off that night and I didn't think.

Theyre getting them from LKQ in Birmingham. How much would they cost?

well i dont know about shipping but i could sell a fender and the chunk of quarter panel for $150, i'd basically give you the chunk of quarter panel you would just be paying me a little for the labor.

:q:q:q:q alabama come get it wouldnt take long at all, leave on a saturday take a weekend cruise, to ship you the fender would probably cost almost as much as what i want for the stuff. i'll even put the fender on for you!

The body shop has the car right now. I'll wait and see what the final estimate will be before I do anything.
