my car has anti-theft stickers in the window and i don't think it's p.a.t.s. but it doesn't have buttons on the remote for an alarm. so i was wondering if it was p.a.t.s. or if the ex-owner swiped the correct remotes for it.

Push the lock button twice to arm the alarm. When you unlock the doors it unarms.

Can the Anti Theft system be disabled? Mine sometimes conflict with my Viper system.

yes, it can be disabled. mine goes off all the time for no reason, so I have to lock the door with the key and not touch the keypad or the power lock buttons - otherwise, the system is armed. I would be interested to know how i can keep it from going off all the time.

With the door open either hit the lock button on the door or the lock button on the remote, once. The green light on the dash that blinks when you open the door will stay on for about 30 seconds and then the alarm is set. If you're getting false alarms check the two door pinswitches and the rubber covered switch under the hood. The one in the trunk is harder to check but one of those is indicating open if you get false alarms.
