To figure out wtf was wrong with my Mark.

Had intermittent jerking/bucking/shuddering off and on for the two years we've been driving this 94.

It sat all winter (wife was off work), and it wouldn't run properly come spring. Was ready to scrap it, my brother gave me crap - "Put a 'new' computer in it!".

So, this morning, picked up a 'new' computer from the boneyard for $113, and popped it in.

Amazingly, this car runs like a champ now.

Who knew!

That was a pretty lucky guess!

Good to know if I ever run into that problem.

Somewhat of a lucky guess - brother is a mechanic by trade, suspected it was the computer. He could never access it via scan tools to diagnose the check-engine light, codes would dump immediately after shut off.

He figured a 'new' computer would at least allow access to codes to figure out what the problem was, turns out it was the computer itself!

So far anyways, have only had it fired up once, and one good long test drive - none of the prior symptoms. Time to get it cleaned up nicely and drive it again :).
