Aviator battery problems

Have an '04 Aviator. Beginning two weeks after purchase in April, 2004, the battery goes dead after the car sits for 4-5 five days. Had it in the shop 4 times. Alternator and battery replaced. Dealer now tells me Ford has just issued an internal bulletin that there is a defect in automatic light switch. If left activated and car sits 4-5 days will drain battery. Dealer said nothing can be done. Ford plans to send stickers to all purchasers to not use auto lights if the car will sit more than a couple of days. This is ridiculous! Anybody else having similar problems?
