I had my windshield replaced a few months ago and the rain sensor will not stay up and I have tried several adhesive compunds to no avail.

Can someone please tell me where i can find something that wil keeps this thing up.

get the name of the adhesive they use if you can.

What have you tried??? Mabey rear view mirroe glue??? That may possibly work. I know that stuff is pretty tough.

everything Ihave bought so far hs been different types of super glue. I have never had to deal with falling mirrors so I am not certain what is out there.

I.ve used the mirror glue many times. The trick to it, is make sure both surfaces are SUPER clean. Then treat both surfaces with alcohol, then treat yourself to some alcohol too.. Just kidding and aplly glue, you don't need but a couple of drops. hold in place for 60 seconds and your good to go. I bet it will work. Do it in a cool place. Also EL I might need your help re-sealing my headlights. I got them apart, but putting them back together seems a little hard. I'm confused on the process.

i have followed the preparation steps all except treating myself. Probably inferior applicator, me, or inferior glue.

fordman and I spoke during lunch and one of the things he brought up was removing the old adhesive. Are you guys doing this? If so, what are you using in its place. Also, if you are using a replacement product is it something that you can remove by using the same process.

No not yet, I've been using gloves. I am actually experimenting with one of the old lights, before I tackle the ones that are currently in the car. I was a little unclear on getting them back together. As EL stated we spoke lunch time, and he suggested using a belt to hold them together after removing from oven. I will try it. I appreciate your concern lsbit.

eL eS: Its probably due to the high humidity. Thats what I have always had to battle with in similar situations. Like stated before prep well with alcohol and use the glue for rear view mirrors. Its holds well under all conditions and is designed to adhere well to the porous (sp?) surface of the glass.
