Joeychgo March 24th, 2005, 06:52 PM Who Wants to Go to the SEMA Show?
Show dates: Nov. 1 - 4, 2005.
Las Vegas, Nevada

In addition, the SEMA show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more.
I am trying to arrange for LVC Members to attend the SEMA Automotive Show in Las Vegas, Nevada November 1 - 4th, 2005.
I need an idea of who would attend. I have already spoken to SEMA (and we are in the process of registering LVC as a SEMA Member) and I can set up for LVC Members to be permitted to attend. Show Entry Fee is only $10 if done in advance (would be $50 if paid at the show)
Once I have a good idea of how many will attend I can look to arrange hotel
accommodations as a group, most likely at Bally's which is in the center of all the action on the strip.
I think this would be a great thing for LVC. Not to mention Vegas is one of my favorite places to visit.
So lets here it. Who will come to LAS VEGAS for the SEMA Automotive show?

Joeychgo March 24th, 2005, 08:35 PM I know that I can get us rooms as cheap as 40-50 a night ----- But I am going to try for Bally's because they are in the center of the strip.
If you like to gamble, you can also get your room rate reduced or completely comped based on how much you place and how high you bet. But Ill get into all that later.

Bob Hubbard March 24th, 2005, 11:27 PM I have rental property in Las Vegas so I go there quite often.
It is a great place to visit for those who are not fortunate to be within driving distance, and see it as often as I do.
The only thing I don't like about the city is the traffic.
It is TERRIBLE.
Not to many years ago it was a pleasure driving around the city but now, it is a nightmare.
As for the show, I would defenitely want to attend.
raquaro March 24th, 2005, 11:28 PM Would love to go to SEMA.
Bob Aquaro
04LSultimate March 24th, 2005, 11:32 PM Would love to get in SEMA show. Live in LV, so no hotel needed.

Kale
Joeychgo March 25th, 2005, 01:37 AM Sure Kale - the show runs from Nov 1-4 though - that is Tues through Friday. But you can attend any or all of the days. Of course, being Vegas, there is alot more then just the show.
Would be great if you made it!
1wykdmk8 March 25th, 2005, 03:35 AM I would love to go, but it all depends on IF I am working (will need to so I can afford it....LOL), and IF I am working, IF I can get the time off....but count me in +3. :Beer
jrod March 25th, 2005, 03:38 AM My girlfriend and I are in. I get vacation again this summer. ( And she wants to go to Vegas.)

MrWilson March 25th, 2005, 10:21 AM Check back again in may, im not sure where i will be then. If im out in WY, heck yeah ill be there.
Mustang Man March 25th, 2005, 10:59 AM I will go, but of course I'll need to know the lodging options & costs. I have found that the comp rooms go to the high rolling regulars that have a history -- not the first timers and certainly not just because a guest is attending a conference/event.
jamsto March 25th, 2005, 12:09 PM Jeanszoo and Jamsto would attend from New Mexico.
Markviiiedrea March 25th, 2005, 12:31 PM u-betch-yha, count me in +1
00ls5spd March 25th, 2005, 01:55 PM Joey,
I live in San Diego, but I have a townhouse in New North Las Vegas about 15 min. north of the strip on the 15. let me know if I can help with directions or anything else I know the area very well.
00ls5spd
Justin Robinett
Also, a quick question how many of you will actually be bringing vehicles??
Joeychgo March 25th, 2005, 02:12 PM I am going to work out a block of hotel rooms for us. Thats why I m trying to get an idea of how many will attend. I will also be seeing what the hotel can do for us as a group in other ways.
I know I can get rooms as cheap as $50 a night at the Stratospere, but that is at the far end of the strip. I am trying for Ballys which is in the center of the strip across from Bellagio, Paris and Ceasars.
Dont forget - you guys can share rooms if you want, further decreasing the cost.
I am so excited that there are so many interested people. This is going to be GREAT!

eL eS March 25th, 2005, 03:23 PM Yes an excuse to do 130 on the I-215 :)

Hey I need a townhouse in New North Las Vegas. :joke
I would make the drive if I know there is a place I can legally speed. :)

Well my wife has been naggin me to go out there for three years now, boy sure seems longer than that the naggin that is. She is a pomp and circumstance kind of girl so Bally’s would be great. So I am tentative based on work but look for me +1 otherwise.
Joeychgo March 25th, 2005, 03:31 PM I have also checked on family attendence. Children under 16 are not permitted into the show. But of course, they can be with you in Vegas and will be welcome at anything we do as LVC.
There will also be some Logistical things I will have to work out to get everyone in, but we will get into that later. Luckily someone at SEMA is guiding me through exactly how to make things happen.
This is in the beginning stages, I hope to plan a few things for us to do as a group as well. I am thrilled to see so much interest.
eL eS March 25th, 2005, 03:46 PM I have always wanted to attend one of these shows and the fact that it is in Vegas and I will get to meet many of the folks I speak with on the daily basis really tops it off.
eL eS March 25th, 2005, 03:55 PM Sure Kale - the show runs from Nov 1-4 though - that is Tues through Friday. But you can attend any or all of the days. Of course, being Vegas, there is alot more then just the show.

Yeah my wife brought up the hookers issue and apparently she all for retaining one, maybe more for a few hours, boy did I hit the jackpot or what!
SCP BILL EVANOFF March 25th, 2005, 04:00 PM I'll be there!
I have been going to SEMA for the past few years as a business owner (Super Coupe Performance) and it is without a doubt the coolest car event you will ever attend.
I look forward to meeting many of you there!
Bill Evanoff
nineball481 March 25th, 2005, 04:03 PM I would definetely like to go, and if possible bring 3 others. Total: 4

Stpro March 25th, 2005, 11:56 PM Iam going to pack my bag so I will be ready.
MonsterMark March 26th, 2005, 12:04 AM I will go, but of course I'll need to know the lodging options & costs. I have found that the comp rooms go to the high rolling regulars that have a history -- not the first timers and certainly not just because a guest is attending a conference/event.Joey is Italian, as is ALL of the mod staff (I'm 1/4 part) and Ballys is still run by the mafia (j/k, but maybe not), so go figure.
Just say, "Hey Joey, hook me up!"
Donny March 26th, 2005, 02:49 AM I always wanted to go to SEMA and never could afford it.
I can't commit right now, Maybe if I could find a friend or 2 to share the cost of gas and room I might be able to go.
Donny
jock82 March 26th, 2005, 06:23 AM I would sure like to go,

Joey as you know from PMs I am definately in, as I live here and I will be doing whatever is needed to help make this a great success.
I have gone to SEMA for the last 5 years and it is amazing. The FORD booth last year had more 05 Mustangs fixed up than I can shake a stick at.
And if any of you guys are the partying types I MIGHT be able to find a good time in the evenings. LOL
StraDog March 28th, 2005, 04:00 PM AHHH. I wanna go ! I'll have to 2 years until I hit up Vegas. Very good time there tho. This is an awesome idea, wish I could attend !
Good luck on organizing it, I haven't seen soo many people interested in a meet as this... But again, it's the SEMA show and it's VEGAS. Who wouldn't want to go ? I think the fake is going to have to do some magic for me now ! Oh, and the Girls, wooooweee.

Jon, bring the fake. It'll work in prety much any casino IF they ask at all.The clubs are a little tougher on fakes but again I MIGHT know a place or two we could go where they wouldn't sweat it.
And there are always the 18 and over strip clubs. No alcohol, but they're totaly nude.If you dont mind looking at gorgeous TOTALLY nude 18 year old woman, giving you a better lap dance than you have ever gotten.
StraDog March 28th, 2005, 04:24 PM Damnit, I'm already getting suckered into this...esp. when GORGEOUS naked women are involved.
I have been to quite a few strips clubs in Chicago, and I wouldn't doubt they would be any more crazier in LV. LOL. How bout a visit to the Blue Bunny Range. ( I believe that's the name, LOL)
Ok, Let me check some available weeks at work and save up some hardcore cash... Going to the SEMA show, clubs, then bringin' 4-5 gorgeous babes to the room for the late hours. .. Oh Man.
I'll get back to ya. I still got a while to save up. LOL

mespock April 3rd, 2005, 10:59 AM It's just not fair not fair at all!!!
Looking at all of the LvC members going to attend.
I want to go!! Damn only problem with being a Teacher - You can't choose your vaction time... :Bang
I have 2 personal days I could use but I'd still have to take 2 unpaid days off. That would up the cost of this event. Maybe there's some educational convetntion in LV that I could claim I'm attending.
I'd love to attend this event why don't they do weekends!!!
Joey I'll be a maybe, if I can convince my wife that LvC is worth 2 unpaid days.

You dont neccesarily have to go for all the days.It DOES take at least three days to see everything at the main location. But there is another convention center that holds all the new tools that come out.
I've gone for the last 5 years I think and I have never made it over to look at the tool section.
mespock April 3rd, 2005, 02:46 PM Oh I know I would have to go for the whole show, but It would be hard to head back. I have this thing I don't like missing anything. Mainly if we have a large group there I want to be part of all of it.
So I'd have to stay the whole time. Unless members where staying into the weekend then I could take off Thrusday and Friday head out on Wednsday and stay until Saturday or Sunday.
Might be a plan.. But it would kill me not to be their at the beginning to meet everyone as they come in.
Joeychgo April 3rd, 2005, 03:14 PM realisticaly, you ahve 2 days of travel, one there one back, plus the time at the show.
mespock April 3rd, 2005, 04:11 PM realisticaly, you ahve 2 days of travel, one there one back, plus the time at the show.
That I know.
I've been talking it over with my wife and she not against my taking 2 days off from work, depending on how much this will cost us.
The trip cost won't be too bad but then add on the amount I loose in salary might end up being too much.
I'll be trying to find some quick cash or put away we have a while before we have to go.
pepperman April 3rd, 2005, 04:33 PM I would like to be there, but it would depend on the cost, my work and how much cash i have by then. To finally meet everyone would be great.
Mulato April 3rd, 2005, 07:17 PM I'm in !!!!!!!
Just spell my name right on the badge. LOL
I would love to meet some members.

Donny April 15th, 2005, 11:49 PM I said to my wife "All the members at the LVC forum were invited to the SEMA show in Vegas in November" and before I could finish my sentance(which would have been "Too bad we can't afford it")She said "We need to find a way to get you there then".
God I love her!!!!!!
Put me down for 2 cause I am gonna have to find someone to make the trip with me cause thats way too much driving to do by yourself.
