same, them things are just what they are...station wagons. Not some power monster. Talk about a surprise, my friend and i were racing (my mark, his hooked up 5.0 stang) and outa nowhere this 74 trans am comes screaming by atleast 50mph faster than us. put us both to shame.

well, station wagons with 345 horsepower. it probably wasn't a hemi that you beat.

That thing had a HEMI, still no competition!! My 4.6 D.O.H.C. is putting out over 300 HP plus. And I'm lighter too!!! As far as the GTO, my mustang likes those for lunch!! :nos: :wrench HEMI!?!? IT DOES'NT MATTER YOU'VE GOT A HEMI!!!!!!!

I'm thinking the same thing........You may have beat him, but not by "Blowing his doors off."

:eek2: Have you seen the dodge commercial where Ryan Newman is blowing the doors off all the vehicles as he flys by in that bad ass Dodge pick-up???? Just braggin' a little!! I beat him by at least 2-3 cars. I think I beat him GOOD. He gave me a thumbs up at the next light so at least he was a sport about it!!

These new Hemi aren't the bad boys from yesterday year. The old Hemi from the late 60s early 70s would have blown your doors off. Dodge came out with a wimpier Hemi. The old ones had a 426 cu.in. engine. Why they decided to come out with a wimpier Hemi is beyond me. They put a Viper V10 engine with 500 hp in a Dodge Truck but they put a wimpier engine in their so called average joe muscle car.

If you did I don't believe it was the "big" one, I'm a huge fan of the Mark VIII and and pretty fair gambler, I'd have my $$$ on the big Hemi.......EVERYTIME !!!!!!

I dont doubt him for a second. But I would love to know how he got "over 300 hp+" out of his Mark VIII, and what kind of proof he has.

JC, what kind of ET's are you running at the strip? 60ft times?

I have yet to see a Hemi Magnum run at the strip, but from what I hear, they run low 15 second passes(just like a stock, curb-weight Mark VIII)

thats for the people who are experienced at draging. the ones that you are quoting...i beileve from the factory specs...cheated and used slicks. I heard that someplace, some big stink about that. BUT WHAT CHA GONNA DO, EH?

All my mods are in Photo Garage vehicle profile, check them out,I really have nothing to prove to any "NAY-SAYERS" but my best ET was in the high 13's.According to my G-Tech. Also were at only 1000 feet above sea level here, that with cool morning air, makes my Mark happy.

how do you like the UD pullies and was it hard to mod the headers to fit

I totally believe he could outrun a mag hemi
if i remember a 93/94 mark viii originally tested around 6.8 seconds 0-60mph.these when when they were brand new /tight motors back in 93-94,
his gears change is approx %18 better,
now i know the gear increase to acceleration increase wont be linear, but take 18% from 6.8 and i get 0-60 approx 5.5-5.6 seconds.
thats without adding in his other mods which have to be wirth a few tenths.not?

On a second note,i've street raced a magnum hemi with my 88 turbocoupe which does 0-60 in 6.0 secs(larger turbo, not stock) according to my gtech and it was a real close race once my boost came on.

you guys need to give rear gears more credit ,especially with high rpm horsepower motors like the mods are.

:wrench how do you like the UD pullies and was it hard to mod the headers to fitThe pulleys were a very noticeable mod!! The headers are the Motorsport shortys, ceramic coated. They were a days work to install. Also well worth it!!! No mods needed, bolt right on.

I know this is kinda off subject, but I'm lookin at UD pulleys, and I'd like to know what the part number is from yours, I dont wanna get the wrong diameter, or one with the wrong groove!!

13's??? No wonder you had a Hemi-Magnum for breakfast! hell, that's barely a slice of bacon to a 13-second Mark VIII!

Bon Appetite!
