i want more power from my LS and the turbos and superchargers are still in tha works and when they come out there gonna be atleast for grand so since i dont have that kinda money just layin in a mattress i was wondering if nos would be a good idea? i would probably use it once every 2 weeks if that...is there any additional parts that can be bought to make the engine last longer? will it dramatically bring down the life that i have in my engine? please help! :nos:

if done right - NO2 can be safe. I ran it for about a year, removed it so I could stay in my ESP SCCA class (NO2 not allowed). The air increases temperature about 18degrees per psi increase, NO2 has the benefit of cooling the intake charge while increasing the pressure.

IMHO, the dangers are:
- NO2 pooling in the intake and then detonating outside of the cylinder.
- you should pull 2degree of timing out for every 50hp increase (rule of thumb) so you'll need some tuning via SCT Xalibrator. Which means you'll loose horsepower when you not running NO2
- most of the time you use it from a standing start, drag racing. Adding a 100hp to the engine is one thing, but the pain put on the trannie and rearend from a standing start are huge
- you should running cooler spark plugs but I could not find any that would fit the LS

The reality is - I want more horse power, as I'm driving around everyday, using it to pass, play and make the journey home more exciting. N02 isn't like that - you have to be set to use it in 10sec bursts. Think of it like lighting a rocket - you have to have a clear straight lane ahead.

With that said - I did get a 13.9350 @ 109.04mph - which was pretty neat.

Not too often do I have a nice clear shot to run your car so NOS was/is not an resonable power source for this car as a daily driver.
