Sounds good to me. felo3769 May 1st, 2004, 08:42 PM nobody would like to see this hood on the LS? and pluc look how great this car is with the racing seats and that roush stage 3 engine!!! (Is that a boost gauge?) felo3769 May 1st, 2004, 08:43 PM Joeychgo May 1st, 2004, 09:08 PM I think its sharp! DO you have any other pics of the hood? Different angles? What about all you LS people? If you all want it, Ill start working to find a way to get it. ONEBADMK8 May 1st, 2004, 09:26 PM That hood is way wrong for that body style. it needs a suttle bubble or mild cowl. Thats way to "Mustangy" looking for a Lincoln. Heres a shot of my factory prototype Supercharged Mark VIII as an example. Nice clean barely noticeable, just enough to clear the Blower. http://www.cjponline.com/tascahood1.jpg http://www.cjponline.com/tascahood3.jpg GrayGhost1 May 1st, 2004, 10:00 PM Rafael, you must get permission to use those pictures outside of LLSOC. Those are trademarked pics. As for the hood scoop, at this point it is non-functional. It's only purpose is hood clearance for the super charger. felo3769 May 1st, 2004, 10:45 PM yeah if anything more like a srt-10 type look felo3769 May 1st, 2004, 10:46 PM ONEBADMK8 May 2nd, 2004, 12:13 AM Rafael, you must get permission to use those pictures outside of LLSOC. GrayGhost1 May 2nd, 2004, 08:17 AM Were they phtographed by LLSOC? YES! The pics are digitally trademarked. Gothicaleigh May 2nd, 2004, 08:48 AM I agree that the scoops should be subtle. That big square hole doesn't go with the car at all (and why would you want your car to look like a Dodge anything. Even the Viper is hideous). Looks like an overblown Honda S2000. felo3769 May 2nd, 2004, 11:33 AM yeah i think they tried to do too much with it. The viper also looks like alot like the SL500, hmmm i wonder why? daimler-benz? lol felo3769 May 2nd, 2004, 11:38 AM Rafael, you must get permission to use those pictures outside of LLSOC. It looks like it kept an almost factory look. The other LS race cars are just gutted shells with a new engine and tranny. This LS looks like the real deal. This post is two years old, why is there still so much hub-bub about redoing an LS. Putting an engine like that is the way to go, not all the sillyness that is discussed mostly here. I would love to know the cost of that swap. I was quoted a starting cost of around 3k running up to around 10k to slap a turbo on my LS. Thats a little crazy for a setup that probably wont be too stable in the long run. But 10k for that engine in an LS would be a steal if it was reliable. FreeFaller June 30th, 2006, 09:12 PM If I'm not mistaken that was the LLSOC OLOA car. It did pretty well IIRC. SoonerLS June 30th, 2006, 10:24 PM Now thats a serious LS. That LS was done by Lincoln engineers, and even they had trouble making everything work (and I think I read that not everything does work). That's a 4.6L V8 in there, not the LS's AJ, and it's a completely one-off race car, not a daily driver. IIRC, they used two PCMs, an EEC-V (I think) to control the engine, and the LS's computers to control everything else. Those guys had trouble making things work, and they designed the damned car, for cryin' out loud. TheRebel June 30th, 2006, 10:45 PM Has anyone ever seen a cowl induction hood for the LS? I think a wide cowl but not aggressive, maybe a .5 to 1 inch raise would look good. Also it would give a little more clearance for something like Quik's supercharger. I would like to see it rise from the two lines that are already in the hood to give it a more subtle look, wouldn't a cowl induction also help keep the engine cooler since the heat could dissipate through the opening? Just an idea, it might even look like crap but the picture I get in my head looks good.:D Beamer June 30th, 2006, 11:30 PM I'd love to have a hood, even carbon fiber, it would go nice w/ my LS aslong as I get some other CF things to the exterior. Either that or paint it the stock color, CF when painted looks great imo. I do not know if I'd want a scoop though, maybe if it was dual scoops w/ the openings facing the windshield. | ||||
