my check engine light comes on now and then and my car idles rough sometimes so I got my error codes checked. It spat out code DTC P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire. Has anyone had this or does anyone know what it could mean? The guy at advanced auto parts recommended new plugs, wires, and coil packs. BTW I have a 96.

i have the same problem, rough idle is very rare, as is occasional CE - I changed my plugs and wires 3 weeks ago, still havent changed the coil packs.

since you did that has the car run any better or did it seem like it didn't help very much?

You should start out with wires and plugs. Cheap and can't hurt anything.

I remember reading that the autolite plugs are best. What plugs and wires do you guys recommend?

it runs better yes but i still have the occasional rough idle and ce light.
