WOW! Talk about broken engine mount!

So I've been complaining about the extreme violent vibrations above 65mph and suspension was one thought, the other was driveshaft yoke. Well....

I had a shop look at it and they said the suspension is fine, but the ball joints will need to be replaced sometime in the next few months because they are showing signs of wear.

After not finding anything the guy gets in the car, has the other guy stand in front of the engine, puts it in D, then mashes the brake and gives it gas. Man that engine practically leaped out of the car. That thing is definitely needing to be replaced!

So I looked on supercoupe performance and they don't have polyurethane mounts for the engine. Where can I get a pair and is that the right route on a DD? Keep in mind I'm pretty rough on this car....

yea it sucked had to change the hole K member, but it was broken in another place anyways.. so it wasn't JUST the motormount saddles that caused the replacement.

Man that is harsh! Was that from using it while the motor mount was broke so it started to torque the saddles? That is insane!

I'm sure hoping mine doesn't look like that ;)

Fordnut: yeah that definitely explains the clunk :)

DLF: I removed the panties that were somehow crammed in my :q:q:q:q:q:q:q so I have my sense of humor back ;)

No.

The OEM are hollow and liquid filled - a.k.a. hydraulically dampened. As such they are softer and yield easier.

That's one reason I didn't weld the stock mounts.

I'm trying to figure out an engine torque dampener to help the motor mounts. I have a kit but it's going to take some major modification.

Some people simply cant grasp information unless its on the end of a baby food spoon.

I'm fairly certain that I am the first to raise the patented pink babyfood spoon here on LVC.

There is even a picture of it someplace, its even got a thermometer in the handle, so while your getting spoon fed, we can flip it around and check your rectal temperature at the same time.

Nope, I bought the rubber mounts because turbochuck said it would be 4-6 weeks. If it was a mod and not a necessity I would have waited.

im gonna do it - he said the installation should be easier for these because there not as big as the oems?

while that may be true, you still have to get the OEM ones "out".
