Hello everyone, new to the forums. Just purchased a 04 LS V8. I am loving this car! Talk about a big step up from the 97 Honda Accord I drove for 5 years :steering
I just got my plates in and apparently I am required to have a front license plate on the car. My question is what is the best way to go about mounting it on? Directly on the bumper? If that is the case, is my only option to drill holes in my bumper?
Thanks for your input.

Congrats onyour purchase. I was just talking about the new hybrid accord this morning. I think I may buy one when the LS has a few more years on it. There is a front lic plate holder. If you contact the folks at 5 Star, contact info can be found in my signature, they can get you a quote on the part.
You could always try breaking the law for a little while and not installing it; I kid of course. The OEM Lic plate holder doesn't look bad and mounts easily.

The factory location was square in the middle of the front bumper -> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4535811554&category=42611

That is the kit, not a bad price! i would hold out for the relocation kit so you do not have to screw the bumber up.

yeah, I didnt like it too much to have plate right in the middle of bumper.
so I moved it tolower grill.
I just bent the top and bottom inch of the plate back then just used a zip-tie to hold it in place to the lower grill.
I have picture of it in the "Pics, CAI and angel on fog" thread.

Sweet! Thanks for your quick response. The relocation kit is exactly what I am looking for. I was not thrilled with the idea of drilling into my bumper.
Thanks again! :yourock:

Welcome :W I like the lower placement, that looks alot better. I'm so happy I live in a state that we don't need a front tag. The car looks so much better without one.

i removed my license plate even though its required. No troubles yet. No troubles with my tint either. I just hate how the holes are in the bumper though. I will wait till i get my $10 ticket to put my license palt back on.

I don't like front plates either, but it does look better IMHO to leave the plate in the factory location. Mounting it down low breaks up the lines of the lower 'grille'.
Too each his/her own I guess, but it's not that big a deal to drill a hole in a urethane bumper cover.
