Can you disable the memory seat?

Just want to know if you can disable the memory seat/steering on the LS.
Recently replaced the airbag wire under the seat and I don't want to do it again. Also I don't need the seat moving back every time I take the key out.
How do I disable this function?
My car is a 2000 LS V6 5 speed with a Sport package.

if the repair was done correctly you shouldnt have this problem again.the wiring harness is longer allowing the seat to move all the way without pulling on the harness.ford had the harness pulled to short from the factory.

check the owners manual...I think there is a way to disable it from the message center iirc

the V6s did not have the message center option. :(

The dealer can disable the "easy exit" feature on cars w/o the message center.

yep and they can disable the door chime for the seat belt and key in ignition. So you might want to make it a trio of disables if you find the others bothersome.

user manual for my f-150 has codes that allow you to turn off things like seat belt chime, auto door locks, etc, and there should be those same codes to turn off the easy exit feature on your LS if you don't have a message center.
on my '04 they exist, anyway, not sure about the '00
