Boy is that ever true. finally some people who dont think im an idiot when i talk about that kind of thing. You have no excuse complaining about the american economy if you go out and get yourself a benz or dodge or bmw or something along those lines. Global economy my  the money still goes in a foreign bank. Sorry guys, just a passionate subject. :F

By the way i like these smileys they are pretty cool. Now we need one with a chick, and one that has a swear word on the sign and a couple that flip you off or something. Jus kiddin.

Nice to see others opinions. I hear yea. I am in the same boat with you. People have money they just spend it on over seas cars not thier own causing the slow econmoy.

I agree with you both. People have little or no respect for Anerican Luxo cars any more though. Some idiots would rather drive a camry than a Town Car or a Deville. People don't know what a real car is any more. Every year that goes by people know less and less of what "class" is.

Sorry.. a touchy subject for me also.

Hey this is the place to share it and hear what everyone else thinks. I think you are very right in saying people know less and less what class is these days. Sorry a Camery is not luxury car by any means unless you are trying to keep the cost down. I am not ripping on anyone who owns one. This is my personal opinion. Class is something that belongs to those who earn it and know what it really means. No those who go dump a ton of money on something because it has to have "class" since it is expencive. Sorry I will get off my soap box now. :)

That Town Coupe is kinda rare isn't it?

It was rare. Until some jackass stole it. That was the last year of the Coupe (and that huge body-style)and they were made in small numbers. A great ride. I would give anything to have another. That hood is HUGE. I love nothing more than having a huge hood infront of ya that you just point in the direction you want to go.

Derek you live in England correct???

purelux
May 3rd, 2004, 08:27 PM
actually in the 90's many cv's towncars gm's were imported from canada as imports they worked along with fords foreign made cars and helped to leave the domestic fleet average mpg to be lowered by the suv's as fords imports like the focus now and the festiva etc... helped average it out. My 94 cv was built in canada my 98 was designed and built in dearborn, mi.

You may have plenty of room, but your immigration service don't seem to like hard working, tax paying, law abiding citizens of the UK. Instead prefer people from oppressive regimes, such as China, Libya, Cuba ETC, but hey lets not get into that, far too political.

Thanks for the offer

Many regards

Yeah im curious too man. If i went to any country besides the US it would be England. Whats up with immigration?

Dereck

Hi All

As I haven't got enough money to buy my way into the states and I am not in a "needed" profession about my only way into the states is by being sponsored by an employer, the rules of sponsorship are a bit prohibitive for an employer to go through for me, when there are millions of American mechanics out there.

Secondly, once a year your immigration service hold a lottery, whereby a certain number of names are drawn out of the hat, all you have to do is fill in a form and you are in the draw, unfortunately six or seven countries are excluded from the draw the UK and Canada are two of them can't remember the others.

I think your immigration service has something against UK citizens, did you read the story of two of the widows (UK born) of the 9/11 attack, who had lived in the states for 12 or 14 years, had a couple of children born in America but because there husbands (Americans) had died in the attack were being deported back to the UK, after a lot of media attention I believe they were allowed to stay.

If you do a quick search of the web you will see how awkward it is for hard working, tax paying, law abiding people to get into the states.

Dereck

Wow, I didn't even know we had any type of strict immigration policies anymore. Sorry to hear about the troubles. I can say a vast majority of us Americans have nothing agaist you citizens of the UK. Just come over here and live without a visa... thats what the Mexicans do. :)

Yeah man that sucks. If it makes you feel better there are a lot stupid people over here (especially in detroit) that might make you miss home. Then again if you enjoy those luxo barges you might enjoy the suburb life.

No wonder we just get trash that take money out of our checks coming over here. Hey if you want we can get a petition started. Anything I can do let me know.

How long have you lived in the UK?

Hey if you try that no visa thing, i have an extra couch and i can cook for three. :D
