The Mark III vs. The Eldorado

In anticipation of the one year anniversary of LVC.com I thought I would do a couple of polls for a certain lincoln vs a certain cadillac. I won't do a whole bunch, but I'll do a few. I thought I'd go back to the 60's for two different comparoes....here's the second one

The Mark III vs. The Eldorado

I took the time to find a front shot, a side shot, a rear shot and a dash shot of each model (thank you cardomain.com!) When you post in the poll, post for the one you like better overall, but in the text part of the post, break it down. I.e. which rear do you like better, which dash do you like better, what about it do you like better, etc.

I will post my take on this on a later post.

Hope participation is high... after a couple more of these, I will get to the 90s (Mark VIII vs Eldorado...hold off on that one til I post it.)

Have fun!

Mechanically, I'd choose the Mk III, but my vote went to the eldo anyway just cause it's so gosh darn beautiful. I've never been a huge fan of the Mk III's looks. The grille sticks too far out and makes it look buck toothed in my opinion, and the front turn light fins are even less dynamic than the ones on the 80's Town Cars (which are fine, btw). I hate the FWD properties of the Eldo, but daymne! Thats a nice looking car! :) I do like the bizzare dash on the Mk III though.

One of the last good looking Eldo's before they got fat in the seventies.

The story on the Mark III is Lee Iacoca had a brainstorm to stick a Rolls grille on a T'bird, the result was automotive history. For a quickie the Mark III doesn't look to bad, but I don't like that style dash, and it hung around for years.

I actually like the late 60's Eldo and the mid-late 70's Eldo about the same. I just don't like the late 60's and the late 70's Mark about the same. :)
