I assume the sensors are broken but what are they and how do I replace them.

Nothing that a little WD in the door mechanism won't cure. Spray liberally into the latching mechanism on the problematic door and your problems will disappear. Then send a check for $50 payable to me for my services.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon10.gif

and the doors and trunk all close perfectly

Because the internal switch that tells if the door is properly closed is hanging up. Trust me. The 'door ajar' message is widely known and a can of WD or similar fixes it. Spray it in the latch area, all around. Lift the outside door handle several times, even the inside handle, lock and unlock the doors several times, and POOF, message gone.

Send the check air if you don't mind. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon12.gif

No really, easy fix. Try it. And don't spare the spray. Sometimes you have to hit the lock from all angles to hit the right spot. I could show you where it is but it is too hard to describe.

P.S. And you didn't say which door, so spray them both.

*owned* :invasion:Ya, that pan is still sitting comfortably on the K-member.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon9.gif I'm too lazy to get my fingers full of grease. You know, it is one of those things where you burn out and just don't feel like going out and doing any more work. That just the way I have felt. I look at the car sitting there and I just don't have the heart to get in there and do some more tearing apart.

I did hear that you picked up a new pan, correct? Cause if I am mistaken, maybe that will provide me with the proper impetus to make it happen.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon7.gif

I have called the bank and had the check stopped.
I have sprayed the inside of both the driver and pass doors with WD40 at least three times thoroughly. Nothing.
Someone have a replacement sensor idea?
