I have and 04 navigator and the other day i was riding and it started running slow and would not pick up speed then it quit on me after a few attempts it started back up and i got it home but it was running rough the whole time i had to keep giving it gas when i came to a stop or it would shut off. then the next day i tried to start it and it took a couple of times but it started and then it was running very rough the engine was shaking badlyand i had to keep giving it gas or it would shut off. any suggestions on what is wrong.could it possibly be the catalytic convertor. the driver side gets hot when its running but the pass. side is still cold. could it be clogged and keeping truck from running or running rough and losing power?

To answer your question. Yes, a clogged cat can cause your vehicle to act as you described.
