Hey guys........do any of you have a pair of CRAP halogen headlight housings? These need to be CHEAP as possible.

I just bought an oven for bending acrylic, and need to make a set of forms to bend the material aginst. You all may get a CHEAP source for CRYSTAL clear healight lenses if I can get something to work from.

Do a search for my user name.............There are quite a few threads regarding the swap......Also check out the "other mark boards", they have them also.

Not to be negative, but the lense is only part of the problem. The real problem is the missing reflective coating not focusing the light forward any more. I have removed the lenses and ran with no lense and they were still crap. Unless we get a new reflector made I think we are SOL :Bang . I don't have any more of my lights that I used to have... I sent them to someone else that wanted a try at it.

You think it MIGHT help that i have some expireince in metal casting? maybe some aluminum housings, Chrome plated? :)

hell, I could prolly make some kind of inserts to throw behind them. Keep in mind, I have'nt seen them off of the car, so I don't know what i'm working with.

i dont know if you or someone else would be good at a custom lens, but maybe we could get a whole new look for the headlights on gen 1 mark's
meaning maybe we shouldnt try to mimic what sucks about these.

isn't there any other damn car out there with really close headlight dimensions we could plagiarize?

i dunno ?
that maybe asking way to much, but its an idea

either way i like your intentions and hope someone can find you a spare set of lenses.

I tried to buy the tooling for the 1st Gen lamps a couple years ago to no avail. We will be introducing a product to restore the original 'external' condition of the lenses, but that will not cure the fact that the lense design is defective to begin with.

Allright, Like i said, I havent had the things apart yet.....But ive heard that the problem is also in the reflective coating in the reflector it's self. If that is the case, I may have a way to get the housings stripped, and re-done. I also have a set of HID projectors arriving via fed ex tomorrow. I've got so many things going on right now Im spinning in my computer chair. I'll keep you guys updated.

The refractive pattern in the lense is half the problem. The other half lies in the size and shape of the reflector.
