OK, so I bought a set of 96 headlights with the clear lenses- were these the HID lights? What light kit should I put in these so the bulbs don't destry the reflectors? How much and where to buy? Thanks, K.

Buy a set of aftermarket 9005 HID's from eBay or wherever else.... then buy a set of adapter rings from me for $25.

yes they fit both gen 1 and 2. It might be a good idea to get a set of adapters just in case you do have a problem down the road, at least that is what I did.

the rings will fit 1st or 2nd gen , the bulbs were the same for 96 lsc's and 97-98 housings so brandons ring will work on either.

OK, now what color temp are the best? Whose kit is the best? What about this ACIS circuit being better and not causing damage to the car's electrical system? Is it a problem to do both high and low beams?

6000k are too blue, i have 6000's in my 95, i had 4300's in my black 93, i like the 4300 or 5000 the best, i'm going to take the 6000k out of my 95 and put 4300's in it and keep the 6000's for a rainy day, or a project.

stocks are around 3600 to 3800k they suck. somewhere i have a pic of my green 93 with hid housings and stock hids, next to my black 93 with 4300k's and halogen housings and believe it or not the stock halogens with 4300k's blew the factory lsc housings away.

I guess compared to the hallogens the HIDs seem super bright to me.

10,000K setting next to halogens lol. If you don't like the blue look, go with 4300 to 5000K. When you get into the 6000K, the color starts to get into the blue tint but mainly from the outside. From the inside, you're still going to see everything in mostly white because with my 10,000K, I see more white from the inside than I do blue but mine are blue if looking at them from the outside.

Pics below.

I've installed HID sets in two Gen 2's - it didn't require any adapter plates. I used 9006 bulbs because they fit perfectly into the hole where the factory bulb used to go. Its 22mm. There is an o-ring on the bulb base that secures the bulb perfectly in the housing. You can secure it even further by putting the three screws back in the housing that originally held the factory bulb, then wrapping them with wire in a triangle pattern behind the new bulb. May not be a pretty as an adapter, but it works and the price is right!

To compare factory vs. aftermarket, here is my '98 with the factory HID in the driver's side, and an 8000 aftermarket HID in the passenger side:

The driver's view - notice how much more "warmer" the factory HID color appears;
