I noticed my air strut has separated from the bottom? Is this normal I have never seen this before. Does it have to be replaced now?

Because it had gone out. This just happen now when I jacked the car up. I guess this explains why the compressor went out again. Oh and this are the bags I had just replaced.

Man that is not good at all. You've got total separation. This would totally cause the airpump to go out. What are you going to do now?

i think the clips broke off of yours, and its too cold for me to run out and check plus im lazy. regardless last thing you want is to hit a bump and have that thing blow out at 60!!

If those were reman or new bags, I would definately be calling the company, for a refund or another set. That should definately not happen.

They were bags from a 98 mark at the wrecking yard. Well no biggie I'm only out of 15 bucks or so. I will just now be converting to coils. I figure it be cheaper and Less maintnace. I have a friend who is giving me his conversion out of his wrecked mark for 250. At this point I will have to replace the 2 front struts, and buy a compressor. so I will spend $250 and call it a day. Hopefully I can get the coil over from him tomorrow thought. If not the mark will be down for a few days till I can get to it.

any how I ended up putting the used compressor in and lowered the car back down and amazingly enough the car lifted back up and is running good. I do hear the compressor kicking on when I exit the freeway from time to time. My buddy dropped off the coil conversion kit today so I will be putting it In on Thursday. I will post some Pics up once it's done. Does anyone know who makes the kit with the blue coils? Eventually I will be getting tokico blue or koni shocks all the way around and a beefed up front and rear sway bar.

It wasn't new, and because Its my only daily driver I got. Too cold to ride around in my bike right now. I couldn't afford to be without a car for a few days. Plus the compressor was only 15 bucks and I had gotten it already.

i wouldnt be driving on that strut if it came apart like that, even if right now it " seems " to be ok, thats a serious accident waiting to happen, but what does my opinion matter lol, see you on the 10 oclock news!!!

I have fixed and used 2 bags like that one separated from the top and one at the bottom never had a problem till they started to leak from the very top by the nut

Believe it or not, The bag holds up air and does not leak at all, I actually turned my air ride off and drove the car around 100 miles and let it sat over night and it stayed up now. But Don't worry Coil conversion go in tomorrow. :) I'm ify about rolling around with the bags like that after I saw it separate. I will let you guys know how it rides after wards, I am keeping all my air stuff just in case I decide to go back to air at a later time.
