Interior color question

So I buy my LS and it doesn't have floor mats...i head on over to our lil local lincoln dealership, give them my vin, they say I have "midnight black" interior and they order some mats. Thought the "midnight black" term was a lil odd, but said "wtf do i know?" Well they come in today and those things are blacker than the exterior of my car(which is black). My interior is dark dark grey...definately wouldn't call it black and they said thats the closest they can get and that my carpet may have faded(yeah, along with my dash, door panels, leather seats and trunk carpet...BS!!) So whats my interior color cause it damn sure isn't black????

btw...its a '00

Hi Nick

If the second digit if your interior code is a "2" as I suspect then your interior is med dark graphite. The correct part number for the PRODUCTION mats should be XW4Z-5413086-AAC which changes to a XW4Z-5413086-ABF.Retail is 49.03 and LVC cost is $39.47 for the front set. The ACCESSORY set-frt and rear is 1W4Z-5413300-AAB (color may be a lighter/darker graphite) $63.66 and your cost would be $51.24.

Hey Nick,

Black wasn't an option until 2003, what you probably mean by dark dark grey is "Charcol", the darkest color available in 2000.

If your dealer ascertained that the interior color was black, and ordered the wrong mats for the color interior you really do have - he should get the correct ones for you at no additional cost to yourself.

Because there certainly are charcol mats available, even check out Ebay if you have to - they're for sale pretty regularly.

Thanks for the info....they told me the only other dark color available was charcoal but it didn't match my vin or interior color code. Time to hit up a different dealer??? They did give me a refund, but only after talking to the parts manager because they supposedly have a policy against giving refund on accessories.
:Bang

Do any of yall have any documentation or a link to a site with some info on the color codes that i can print out and bring with me to the dealer??

Hi Nick

I-M is correct as to the rear set part number (13086 is fronts; 13106 is rears and 13300 is front and rear set)and your color code for the interior is " deep charcoal leather". I think the deep charcoal leather(4w;3w) is midnight black mats and the light graphite leather ( code 42; 32) is the med dark graphite mats(more of a dark gray) interior in our listings. It may be a preference for one or the other in your case but you can buy which ever color (even parchment) you like. Your dealer is correct in saying that accessories are not returnable but floor mats come and go so If I have a customer that dont like the color I just order the other color, and the customer always comes back. I cannot see making a customer mad because of floor mats...life is too short. if you want a set of the med dark graphite with lincoln logo frt and rear set is $63.66 and LVC cost is $51.24 plus ups. Ther is also a LSE light graphite for the 01 (also code "2") for the front available for $64.60 and your cost would be $52.00, but this would be even lighter.
A lot of the time the number is good in the ford system and the part comes up cancelled after you order them...as I said floor mats come and go.
I hope this helps.
