Screw-Rice November 24th, 2009, 05:57 PM So I finally bought a Mark. Found a 97 LSC, black with tan interior. Fully loaded with heated seats, 10 disc changer, sunroof, etc. Has 106k miles, and is in far better shape than any other I had checked out. Even has the blend door fix, and new heater core. Got it for $3k and even came with all the books, sales brochure, and the promo VHS. I am in love with this car.

sbcaprice305 November 24th, 2009, 06:01 PM looks great! i'd consider it a deal if the headlights and rear neon work. looks super clean.

Both work perfect. :D
sbcaprice305 November 24th, 2009, 06:04 PM awesome! just noticed the steering wheel. that sucks. going to replace i? cupholder work?
jrherald420 November 24th, 2009, 06:07 PM Score!!!
Screw-Rice November 24th, 2009, 06:10 PM Need a cupholder since it broke out, and I plan on replacing the steering wheel. Thinking I might just swap in a Cobra wheel. :D
ford nut November 24th, 2009, 06:15 PM Looks nice! nice car.
You will like that car better then that 96 POS.
Screw-Rice November 24th, 2009, 06:17 PM I think I would have hated myself, if I bought that one. It is a good project car, but anything over $1500 was just too much.
The 97 was owned by an older business man, who has had a few of them, and a bunch of other Lincolns.
topher5150 November 24th, 2009, 06:23 PM way to join us cool kids. ;D
cadillackman November 24th, 2009, 06:30 PM Awesome bonus on the blend door too.
87TTOPGT420 November 24th, 2009, 06:37 PM i like it, i need a gen 2 now
k9t8m November 24th, 2009, 06:46 PM Very nice. Just swap a tan CE steering wheel in and you will be good to go.

deadmark8 November 24th, 2009, 08:29 PM my post was wrong... im an idiot late at nite...
Screw-Rice November 24th, 2009, 09:08 PM I am glad I don't have to be deal with the blend door too.
I am thinking I can score a tan Cobra wheel fairly easy....think it will fit the bill. Or if I score a MK8 one first. Any idea what they run normally?
Just got home from going out to dinner, from a stop with traction control off, it broke loose pretty easy. :D
First mod is going to be exhaust, just too quiet.
mespock November 24th, 2009, 09:13 PM Nice for a Gen II ... welcome to the fold ..
Russo November 24th, 2009, 09:34 PM I am thinking I can score a tan Cobra wheel fairly easy....

Besides, steering wheel covers really annoy me for some reason.
LaserSVT November 24th, 2009, 10:53 PM Finnaly! Welcome aboard Rice. :D
Looks like a great start and I wish mine had 40K less miles onit like that one. The seat leather looks great!
marked8 November 24th, 2009, 10:55 PM Welcome to the club.

You aren't kidding, the rear seats look like they have never had anyone back there.
Plan to stay on top of the leather to avoid any cracks or issues.
94M5- I am down next time you guys decide to have a meet.

jolinc01 November 24th, 2009, 11:48 PM It looks pretty clean, and you got it for a good price. I've never understood the black on tan though, but the leather is in great shape. I wish my seats looked that good!
rooster1969 November 25th, 2009, 06:27 AM My favorite color combo.
87TTOPGT420 November 25th, 2009, 07:37 AM $3,000 isnt a bad deal...nice find, hope i find the one i want when the times comes

Yup get one!
Love mine it will be a week tomorrow.
It had the muffs off when I got it..... it sounds OK.
What sucks is it will be in storage soon.
Why do I live here????
Screw-Rice November 25th, 2009, 03:36 PM Just got home from work, and I wound up driving almost 70 miles today. Haven't enjoyed that long of a drive in a couple years! Almost got caught a couple times by state troopers though, while enjoying some mountain roads.
Oddly enough though, the telescopic wheel randomly stopped working, it wont tilt up or down...going to have to search the forums for some answers.

Clean the switch contacts first, work from there.

:D
Welcome to the club.
Up.. "initiation" includes a trip thru the god forsaken state of Texas and a ritual drag down the dragstrip before your actually "one of the cool kids".
XLRVIII November 25th, 2009, 03:59 PM First mod is going to be exhaust, just too quiet.
You should pick up one of those Xcal 2s for it..
Screw Loud.. "TUNE IT".
it's funny as hell smacking some "ricer/mustang/insert boy racer car here" with a quiet car.
you can always make it louder later easily, make it faster first.
XLRVIII November 25th, 2009, 04:10 PM Yup get one!
What sucks is it will be in storage soon.
Why do I live here????
Dragstrips are still open here...and this weekend there are two very very big money bracket races within a 4 hour drive
Big money=10K or more to win
You and KK just need to "move your azzes south".
kustomizingkid November 25th, 2009, 04:14 PM I'll be there before you know it...
Screw-Rice November 25th, 2009, 05:22 PM Tracks around me are all closed, we have a seasonal issue with this white stuff that falls from the sky.
I have considered many times moving down south, I am tired of 10* weather and ice.
XLRVIII November 25th, 2009, 05:24 PM that stuff falls out of the sky here too.. but not seasonal.
more like a 20ish year cycle.
Dunno if this is/was a coincedence or not...BUT.
The last two years that hurricanes hit us directly, we also had snow for christmas.
The year Alicia came in, it snowed for christmas and same with Hurricane Ike.
Funnnnky...mother nature does have a sense of humor I guess
*shruggs*
Screw-Rice November 25th, 2009, 05:33 PM That is crazy. Snow on Christmas is cool though.
It hasn't been warmer than high 50's for 3 weeks. Didn't stop me from opening the moonroof on the way home.

I remember Alicia. We were moving into our house in Memorial Chase when it hit. I remember my father driving to the store during the eye. That was a long damn time ago, it did snow that year too, had about 2" on the ground and my school closed..... musta been 9 years old.... man that was 25 years ago!

Damn you are old, 25 years ago I wasn't born. Just kidding man.;)
chicken November 30th, 2009, 12:29 PM welcome to the wonderful world of gen 2's
looks good with the exception of the tan :yuck: sorry i hate ford tan
Screw-Rice November 30th, 2009, 12:40 PM Tan isn't my favorite color either, but considering it has every option I wanted, I won't complain.
I do however need a front diver side air strut since mine leaks apparently, so if anyone has a spare, let me know.
LaserSVT November 30th, 2009, 01:44 PM I like the tan, looks more luxurious.

I would love to.
Houston is on the short list.
I have had enough of the cold I can handle a little wind :p
I would like to test the tune that's on this car. :)
Screw-Rice November 30th, 2009, 02:33 PM I like the tan, looks more luxurious.
True, but I am always paranoid of stains and such, which stand out on lighter colors.
Also I think I am in one of the worse areas for tracks. Nothing like racing at 6000+ft
LaserSVT November 30th, 2009, 03:38 PM Stains are easy, just dont spill any thing. :p
I have spilled chocolate milk, soda, cheese burger toppings and many cig ashes on my seat and it does not stain. Meguires carpet stain remover will remove anything as well.
Had a friend step in some silicon (burst container) and it dried for a couple days before I noticed it. Stuff came right up like it was water with my Meguires spray.

Good info to have. I am back to my old rules of no drinks allowed without caps, and no eating in the car.
Didn't care in my Jeep, since the floors were rubber.
