i was driving on the highway last night when all of a sudden i see tons of white smoke and i think to myself, whos junker is blowing all that smoke?!! well wouldnt you know my lincoln ls was that junker. so i pulled over to the side of the road and i popped open my hood and i noticed a hose had come almost completely off and was spewing coolant all over the place. i placed a rag right over it to stop it from spraying all over my windshield and other components. once it calmed down i placed the hose back on and screwed it nice and tight. i didnt know how that happened but i checked my reservoir and obviously it was gonna be low so i refilled when the engine cooled and i popped open the rad cap to see if coolant was flowing and it was. i topped it off and everything seemed fine but now i am slightly overheating.i doesnt get hot enough for the engine temp light to come on but it is still a little over the halfway mark. it would do this even before the incident happened but now its just getting scary. right now i am getting a coolant flush done and they are checking to see if my therm is bad or if my radiator is clogged.
has this happened to anyone else??

You need to follow the bleed procedure (to the letter) to get the air that got in, back out. That should resolve the overheating.

yea the thing is its been slightly overheating even before this happened.

My LS was just over the half mark as well for no damn reason, I was barely getting on her today, not nearly as much as I always do, check for debris blocking the radiator maybe? Im gonna check mine as well, could be all sorts of leaves and neighbors pets up in there.

The slightly overheating is a sign that something is wrong, not the best thing to keep driving in that condition.
The cooling system needs to stay under pressure to prevent overheating, if the hose was loose before blowing off, this could be your source of the pressure loss.
If you have a pressure leak somewhere else, the hose might have been the weak spot and could not stay in place once the car overheated.
low coolant, bad T stat, air entrapment, and sloppy water pump can all cause a car to overheat.
Good luck.

well im gonna be flushing it out, they are going to have to bleed the system so so there goes the air problem. as far as having a leak somewhere its def possible im gonna check asap. then i can start troubleshooting it and finding out if it could b the rad or the pump or thermostat. ill let you guys know what else it could be, any insight would def b great, sans the smartass comments. :)
