Rear Spring Conversion Cap/Adapters.

Hey everybody,

I have a few 1997 Mark VIII's, a Deep Evergreen Base with 260,000 miles, a Prarie Tan Pearl Base, and a Silver LSC. I am converting over to coil springs on the rears again. The last time I used a "reputable company" they sent me powdercoated junkyard springs that were crudely cut (there were zizz wheel marks where they missed a few times), and came with a flat piece of metal folded on all four corners to keep the spring from walking. Does anyone know where I can buy just those top plates to keep the spring positioned correctly? I don't want to pay $150.00 for a junkyard hackjob again (although they still work flawlessly). I already have procured T-Bird Springs, I really just need those plates. Any help on this subject will be greatly appreciated!!

same situation as you prob know. i'm trying to get in touch with the susp conv company's but havn't heard back. Might just have to buy the hole rear kit, sell the spring and keep the plate. pain in the f'n ass

I made mine out of the tine housing from an old rear tine tiller. Just flattened it out, cut 4 lines in it, bent it over the spring and trimmed off the excess. Got a small short bolt and welded it in so it would poke in the hole where the air spring was. A coat of rattle can black and I was done and that was a little over 2 years ago.

I make a very elegant, if somewhat expensive, solution to using T-Bird springs in Mark VIII's.

Take a look HERE (http://www.lincolnsofdistinction.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27045), and let me know if you're interested.

Just use some snowflake caps and put a stud through in the center.
