MrWilson March 6th, 2005, 06:06 PM I dont realy know if this should be in the cars for sale forum, but its kinda mark specific. Some lady red my add in the paper for the mark, and she called me up. She said she loved the car (she drove by and saw it) but she didnt like that it has a new transmission @ 46,000 miles. I explained to her that I was duped into getting it, and the problem was nothing to do with it, and that it was the plugwires and plugs. She currently owns a mark8, and she wanted another one...but she didne like that it has a NEW transmission? Who wouldnt want a new transmission? If it were a lemon, i explained that away. Im baffled
pepperman March 6th, 2005, 06:11 PM If it was me i would be happy with a new transmission.
crazyman March 6th, 2005, 06:37 PM Maybe she thought that being she's probably never had problems with her's, and you're fairly young, that it needed a tranny because it's had the s*** run out of it.Most older ladys seem to automatically think that if you're under 30, you're going to drive anything hard.

even though that's true, still...
seanklsc March 6th, 2005, 08:58 PM Myself, I prefer to have an original drivetrain at 46k miles.

My point was, maybe she's thinking, "He drove it hard and f***ed up the tranny, so everything else might be worn or damaged".I'd rather have a car that some old lady owned that one that someone with a foot owned. Why? Less wear.I wouldn't want one of my cars but I'd buy one from my Grandma or mother in law.
MrWilson March 7th, 2005, 12:02 AM well, thats what im thinking, but it got replaced 3 days after i got the car, not too much beating i could on the car. but apparently logic doesnt apply. Like pep said, id much rather have a new trans...but your assumptions are all right (:) i did beat the Ba!!$ off the car, but i took good care of her and fixed all the problems)
67Continental March 7th, 2005, 12:03 PM tell her someone stole your tranny and you had to replace it.
Markviiiedrea March 7th, 2005, 04:22 PM an 60 year old guy drove mine before i got it , and it was fu*ked up
MrWilson March 8th, 2005, 01:09 AM well, it just goes to show you...its not just us youngins that beat the cars up
67Continental March 8th, 2005, 01:24 AM older people tend to beat their cars up through a lack of maintenance.

:I ,vary true!
Dern Humpus March 8th, 2005, 11:26 AM Cant go wrong with factory. My friend had a new transmission in his Altima a couple years back and that thing kept going out one time after another.
Personally at 46k miles I would also be more comfortable with the factory tranny as opposed to a rebuilt/ new transmission.
MrWilson March 8th, 2005, 01:01 PM definatly, but i suppose its time to advertise in the paper. People just buy cars because they are pritty from the paper.
