Don't think he's Muslim.
I don't think he's religious at all.

His association with Rev. Write was based on marxist black liberation theology.
And his "respect" for Islam is based on his contempt for European and American history in the Middle East. It's the moral relativism andover compensation associated with presuming that we (U.S., Euro-centrics) are the bad guys in the world.

He's not a Muslim anymore than he is a religious Christian.
