Intake on a Deville...

I have a 90 Deville and i wanted to know if a custom intake would be worth the money on a car like this. Ive been told that it wont really have an effect because of the mass airflow sensor. Though i dont know if this is true or not.
Would it help with gas mileage and maybe a little more power?
If so, what type of intake would be the best choice?
Also, if anyone has pics of a cadi with custom intakes could you post 'em?
I just want to make sure im doing everything right. Especially since i dont have experience working on cadi's, because i actually just turned 17. Ive taken autos in high school for 3 yrs so far; im planning to take it again next year. We work on teacher's cars or students' when they have problems but no one at school has a cadi but me but i dont have time to work on it cuz we always have other cars that need work.
Help is appreciated, Thx.
