Blinker problems???

My blinkers are being really wierd. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. They might work for 3 weeks straight and then quit working the next day. This has been going on for a while. Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks

You must be running low on blinker fluid

When I push my turn signal it just will not do anything-left or right. Then after a while, after doing nothing different they will blink like they are suppose to. When they don't blink in the car they don't outside either and vice versa. Sometimes they work (or don't work) for long periods of time. Sometimes it will work at one stop sign and not the next. Does this help?

So what you're saying is its an intermitant blinker fluid problem.

:joke

It sound like a bad blinker relay.
Does your car have an information center to the right side of the instrument cluster?

If it's wiring or blown bulbs, the information center will detect it.
did you do anything to the steering column?

You have a wiring malfunction somewhere... the question is where. Next time it goes screwy, smack the steering wheel, like on the right or left side like you're trying to push it to the passenger side. Sounds silly, but in my merq after I had the airbags attempt to save me from a deer, the turn signals never really worked right when it was cold. The four ways would work, but the turn signal would flash fast and only one light would blink. You smacked the wheel, and it came back to life, or you left the heater on a little longer on hot, and they would work fine. We figured the problem was the clock spring connection got hit when the air bag went off. I never replaced it because, well, I didn't care. Have your airbags ever been set off? And, do your four ways work when the turn signals don't?

My airbags haven't ever gone off since I have had the car (last June) and I am not sure about the hour ways, I'll have to check. I do have an information center but it hasn't showed anything on there. I'll try what you said Kleetus... :waving:
Thanks

Look at the bright side, you really can't break it much worse than it already is... A little experimentation is a good thing from time to time!

Maybe Ill try to locate the Turn signal Relay and test it

i dont think this vehicle uses a Relay in the turn signal circuit. Anyone know where it is? I dont see it on the schematic.
