It's probably your rear shock mounts are loose...
Pull back the trunk liner and look over the wheel well.
More than likely, the rubber is dried out and they need to be replaced.

There was a recall on the lower ball joints. go to www.flatratetech.com go to the Ford Forums and post you vin and request an Oasis record search. They will be able to tell you if the recall has been done.

Another thing to look at is also stabalizer links. I had mine snap completly off on one side. This is also common on the LS.

If it is the ball joint, make sure to replace it before it shears, I learned the hard way, but had no symptoms of suspension wear before it broke.

It wasn't too bad, going the speed limit because I was with my parents (40 mph), and teh joint snapped in two. The wheel went completely sideways and pulled like no other. Luckily there was almost no traffic on the road to deal with. I ended up stopped right outside my driveway (luck I guess).
Something else was worn when this happened though, because the tire this happened to won't pull into alignment. No idea what it is, and not in the mood to replace extra suspension parts. It already has negative camber from this accident, so lowering the car is out of the question.
This happened about 1.5-2 years ago, right about when I started driving.

Hey about that balljoint replacement... I have one on it's way out on the lower driver's side. NHTSA say's there was a recal on them, but my ford dealership claims my VIN doens't apply. Fine. They want $250 for the damn spindle that includes the lower balljoint. What did you pay for yours, and where did you get it? I also think it's pretty s h i t t y that they fail at 61k Miles. I mean, that's just plain BS.
