From my understanding on the McLaren car is that those mirrors were a "one off" meaning there isn't any more. Your best bet is to custom build your own.

I made my own:

I added puddle light to them (light up when you unlock the door):

I also added the LED turn indicators to the mirrors:

no stone unturned quik! I'd like to know what parts you used for the puddle light if you don't mind sharing. I wouldn't mind adding em to my mirrors.

Quik LS,
Neeeeet! I'd be interested in using the the LED portion on my 03 Sport if you'd be willing to share your method.

I used super bright LEDs - drilled them through the bottom of the mirror. They are simply wired into the interior door lights.

I purchased :
- 12,000mcd RED LEDs off e-bay (100 LEDs for $18)
- 560ohm resisters from Radioshack

I then
- soldered 9 LEDs in parallel into a V and attached a resistor to one leg
- covered them in glue to keep it water tight
- pulled the mirror out of the housing
- pulled the mirror out of the plastic holder
- peeled the heater pad off the corner of the mirror (and cleaned the glue goop off the mirror)
- cut enough of the plastic housing away to mount the LEDs
- filled the cavity with black silicon sealant (to keep it water tight)
- attached the LEDs to the turn signal wires (already in my mirror from my earlier project)

took a couple of hours - but pretty easy.

Maybe I'm missing something because I haven't had the mirrors off my car yet, but how do the LEDs shine though the mirror? You didn't drill the glass, right?

right - no holes. the mirror backing is reflective but not opaque - the bright light just shines through. on the 'real' production units they actualy scratch away some of the backing right in front of the LEDs - that why you can see little scratches in the mirror even when the LEDs are not on.

I'd rather not see them, the hole that is. Seems they would be distrcting when you use the mirror.

sorry for so many posts but i was looking on ebay for the blinker kits like your quik. i saw the bulbs then saw the actual whole kit, it a plastic piece that sticks to the mirror (tacky) what if you got those took the mirror out of the housing and stuck it to the back of the mirror as you did with the bulbs, do you understand, im not explaining it very well. heres the item number 7958368951 check it out and let me know what you think, would it be easier cheaper, and would it even work

save you the trouble - I tried that - it really is only two LEDs that point inward into a plastic V. it isn't bright enough to show through the mirror in the daylight.

and they look bad on the outside of the mirror.

the wiring for the puddles light was easy - they just tap into the interior door lights.

the wiring for the blinkers was much tougher - I have all the wiring diagrams that help me. I have a fairly well written how-to that I need to take the time to post up. the mirrors were not hard to make - if I can do it ANYONE can do it.
