driller July 19th, 2009, 09:10 PM that is sweet! makes me (almost) want a Gen II :D
LOL... :I
It does look nice. :)
Tiltedhalo July 19th, 2009, 09:18 PM Yes its the stock tube, cut and angled.
02LS8Lincoln July 19th, 2009, 09:28 PM the car beautiful its an amazing machine nonetheless but Im just not digging the hood scoop.
BAD97LSC July 19th, 2009, 09:34 PM christ what size tire is that in the rear? almost looks like you would have had to widen the stock 10 spoke. looks sick!
Tiltedhalo July 19th, 2009, 09:36 PM The wife wanted a small scoop, the wife gets what she wants (:
Tiltedhalo July 19th, 2009, 09:47 PM 265 50R 16 rear, 245 55R 16 front, they fit really close clearance.
BAD97LSC July 19th, 2009, 10:06 PM wow looks much wider, i had 245-50 on my black 95 and they looked good but not that good!
Tiltedhalo July 19th, 2009, 10:46 PM A pic from the back
http://www.digitalsbyamy.com/LVC/DSCF0014.JPG
richduty455 July 19th, 2009, 10:59 PM Do you have any trouble with rubbing?? I need tires and they look just plain BAD ASS!!!
Tiltedhalo July 19th, 2009, 11:09 PM No they don't rub, you could probably fit a 255 50R 16 up front with about half a pinky width clearance, the backs are as close as you can get at 265 50 16.
Tiltedhalo July 19th, 2009, 11:33 PM Hey I got one for everybody, now I am a cheap ass #$%^.... try to figure out how much is invested in this car? including the original price of the vehicle.
1997 LSC 120K miles, bad paint, good interior.
Isky cams, Kieth black pistons, H beam rods, Cobra crank, total seal rings.
Cobra intake modified, modified IMRC's, Steeda under drive crank pulley and timing adjuster, EV6 24LBS injectors, MSD coils, custom CAI, modified 90MM stock Ford MAS.
3500 Baumman stall, 75R4W valve body with a Baumann stage 4 kit, Gen 1 drive shaft . 3:53 gears and LOC have 3:73's also.
Twin X pipes, 2.5 dual to back no mufflers third cat removed.
Maaco paint job, yes Maaco.....
Tires, brakes and small stuff........
PS for everybody that thinks it cant be done really cheap it can. Keep that in mind.........
ripped camel July 19th, 2009, 11:54 PM $5500 is my guess.
Btw, that car looks freaking awesome!!!
Blair July 20th, 2009, 12:43 AM Yeah, but what tier of maaco paint job...? :)
Tiltedhalo July 20th, 2009, 01:12 AM WOW ripped camel on the money almost to the penny!!!
single stage $500.00 Maaco paint job, I did all the body work and prep, best $500.00 paint job I ever got, hell I have spent more doing them myself.

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! Now why can't I ever guess things like the damn jelly bean jar contest close like that when I'll actually win big sums of money?! HAHA!
Guess I know my prices ;)
Kstills July 20th, 2009, 10:01 AM That's a beautiful car right there, and I would say that even if I didn't own a black Gen 2 LSC. ;)
BTW, how much time on the paint job? And what did you have to do prep wise to keep the costs down? Was it base/clear, or lacquer?
Looks like the intake was painted a gloss black? Either that or it's cleaned to all get out, either way it looks very nice. And I'm loving the tires myself.
Nice Cobra emblem. ;) Any idea what kind of numbers the engine is putting up atm?
Tiltedhalo July 20th, 2009, 10:38 AM Sanded down the bad clear coat, shot it with sand and fill, wet sanded and sent it of to Maaco for a single stage Dupont Poly. Three days start to finish.
The air intake is a stock one that I cut and modified to fit the cobra intake, its fiberglass and painted.
Well I put down 282RWH before I bumped up the compression to 11.3 to 1, adjusted the cam timing and modified the intake. I have not had it on the dyno yet and probably wont if it runs like I want it to at the track.
LaserSVT July 20th, 2009, 12:13 PM Very sweet looking ride! Love the wide rears, gives the car a very sinister look to it. Great work.
I am into mine about $5500 but no engine goodies or fresh paint. Just the car purchase, tires, brakes, stereo and a new MAF meter. One day I hope mine is as nice as that one though. :D

LaserSVT July 20th, 2009, 02:00 PM Damn you really do live in hell don't you!!:p
Well two months before I bought it it recieved a coil conversion setup, blend door mod, new coils, new injectors, new fuel pump, new headlights, new ballast, all new front end bushings with polly where he could, new ball joints, tie rods, rear sway bushings and new rear brakes.
I had to do a complete new front brake kit (wish I would have bought the Cobra kit), P/S pump, tires and thats it in the last 30,000 miles. No errors or codes.
The stereo is also a full nav touch screen system with DVD and all Boston speakers with an Xtant (first gen) amp.
Kstills July 20th, 2009, 02:35 PM That shot of the drivers side from the rear quarter panel just made my desktop. :)
Take it out on a road, get a nice background and take that exact same shot (nothing against your house, mind, it just makes the car look 'parked').
Awesome picture.
Rich88LSC July 20th, 2009, 03:24 PM Looks great. Love the wide rear tires. No lasagna either.
lscmkviii July 20th, 2009, 04:11 PM Looks good! I love the wide tires!
Stack July 20th, 2009, 05:08 PM Great looking car but the scoop is yuck... You need to change her mind! :D

 That's practically a brand new car!! Makes more sense. But your location still says you live in hell, so technically.....;)
Looks great. Love the wide rear tires. No lasagna either.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Nothing like the classic Mark lasagna!
Roadboss July 20th, 2009, 06:33 PM Very nice job there Halo. Rear view of tires is awsome.
htrdlincoln98 July 20th, 2009, 06:59 PM Yeah man the car looks great!!! And It runs too Thats the best part!! Keep it lookin good.
Rude July 21st, 2009, 08:03 PM That car looks great! Excellent pics too.
Staffamerica74 July 22nd, 2009, 05:18 AM Nice mark dude.
Ive got 255/40/18s on the front with 30 offset probably the biggest you can go on the front. The back with the proper backspacing and rolled fenders I think you can go 295 I have 275 without rolled fender lips and zero rubbing.

Nice, I need to have my front end rebuilt after two years use and 13,000 miles. Luckily everything else was up to snuff. Awesome Gen II by the way. Aside from the silly wife scoop its a real beauty, the scoop hardly ruins that work of art. Great job!
Sal329 July 22nd, 2009, 05:44 PM Man the car looks sweet, Id love a black on black Gen 2 and 01 Cobra motor
MsM8tress July 22nd, 2009, 05:51 PM that is sweet! makes me (almost) want a Gen II :D

Smooches
Chadly July 22nd, 2009, 08:07 PM Looking good dude. I will have a MAACO paint job in the near future too. I think I will go with the base/clear though.
YR1 MK8 July 22nd, 2009, 10:51 PM just out of curiousity, what brand tires are those on the back?
Kstills July 23rd, 2009, 07:48 AM Looking good dude. I will have a MAACO paint job in the near future too. I think I will go with the base/clear though.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you think that will set you back?
Base clear is a better option, imho. But I'm betting it's much more expensive.
micahs97m8 July 23rd, 2009, 07:15 PM Now all you have to do is take it to the track:steering
smitty2919 July 23rd, 2009, 08:19 PM i tried finding the price on 265/50/16 tires on both tire rack and discount tire and both sites told me i entered an incorrect size lol
where did you get those tires from?

I serched too and had no luck. :( They look like Sumitom HTRZs though.
I need a Trac Loc though. Dont matter how big the tires are, one wheel peels suck. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x135/orange92gt/Smilies/thumbsdown.gif
UltimateSVT July 24th, 2009, 12:19 AM Oh! I'm wet!... SICK!

The last car I had done at MAACO with that paint + minor body work was 1200
Green Machine July 25th, 2009, 08:21 AM did we ever find out what brand of tires those are?
350TPI July 26th, 2009, 10:27 AM did we ever find out what brand of tires those are?
I just got through looking on ebay and everywhere else for them also. Please let us know.
I just looked on tire rack and found 265 45 16 for $169 a piece.
Tiltedhalo July 26th, 2009, 10:39 AM They are Sumitomo's HTRZ's, and I got both the fronts and the rears at Tire Rack about 6 months ago. Funny thing is Tire Rack has the listing for the fronts 255 50 16, but Sumitomo's web site does not. Neither has the listing for the backs anymore 265 45 16, I paid under 100 bucks apiece for them.
LaserSVT July 26th, 2009, 12:52 PM Das right! Whos da man!?
Damn, I spend too much time staring at tires. I can name too many performance tires just by looking at the tread. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x135/orange92gt/Smilies/rlaugh.gif
THEMOJOMAN February 13th, 2010, 10:42 PM Looking Good Right On Melbourne Fla ?????
BAD97LSC February 13th, 2010, 10:59 PM i got 285-35-18's on the back of my 97, but i am buying 4 new tires in a few weeks for it, my fronts are 245-40-18, i want 255-40 in the front and i want to see if a 295-35 will fit in the rear. we'll see!
LaserSVT February 14th, 2010, 11:16 AM Jamie, you can just squeeze a 295 under there I think...... maybe. Figure the tire will be sticing out apx 10 more mm. Looking at what I did to mine I think it can clear. Just roll the fender and cut off the upper bumper screw and trim back that plastic piece a little.
