MonsterMark June 3rd, 2009, 02:57 PM Wow.
The process of Islamification has begun.
The Great Satan will bow to the almighty Obama.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/02/obama-signals-themes-of-mideast-speech/
Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
pepperman June 3rd, 2009, 04:57 PM Hopefully in four years he will not be president.
foxpaws June 3rd, 2009, 05:22 PM From the article (http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/02/obama-signals-themes-of-mideast-speech/)… (start of the 7th paragraph)
“And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world,” Mr. Obama said.
Population of Muslims – by nation (wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_by_country))
1 – Indonesia - 207,000,105
2 – Pakistan - 164,741,924
around 50th - United States - 3,011,399
I was mistaken - need to look at the numbers more closely, thanks for the heads up foss...
We look to be in the top third of countries. Not really 'one of the largest' - huh? Barack should do his homework...or perhaps he grabbed the wrong column too...
But, not a good thing to get wrong, especially with all the eyes that are on him regarding this trip and speech that he has coming up.
fossten June 3rd, 2009, 05:24 PM So fox, according to your post, the US has over three hundred million muslims.
94m5 June 3rd, 2009, 05:25 PM 1,139,947...............That many more than 300 mil.
Aquabrit June 3rd, 2009, 05:25 PM Hopefully in four years he will not be president.
Big +1 to that!
+1!
:D
foxpaws June 3rd, 2009, 05:27 PM That does seem strange, I didn't really think - just ran numbers - wiki probably is wrong - do you have a better source Foss?
fossten June 3rd, 2009, 05:27 PM 1,139,947...............That many more than 300 mil.
And what's the population of the US?
fossten June 3rd, 2009, 05:28 PM That does seem strange, I didn't really think - just ran numbers - wiki probably is wrong - do you have a better source Foss?Fix your own post. You're the one trying to make a counterpoint and got your numbers wrong.
foxpaws June 3rd, 2009, 05:28 PM ah, wrong column - I posted new numbers... I was looking at overall population. Sorry...
TDUB June 3rd, 2009, 05:29 PM Less than four years now. I'm already counting down to 2012.
Calabrio June 3rd, 2009, 05:37 PM This was a stupid statement, wrong on so many levels you can't even address it. And it's the kick off to another one of his misguided, blame America tours.
And why is he going to Egypt?
Why did they invite the Muslim Brotherhood?
Why doesn't he ACTUALLY go to one of those muslim countries where they aren't all arab? Why not Indonesia? Why not India?
foxpaws June 3rd, 2009, 05:37 PM foss - I saw my first 'real' Palin 2012 bumpersticker today - complete with the campaign disclaimer line...
94m5 June 3rd, 2009, 05:38 PM And what's the population of the US?
I could'nt care less what the overall population of the US.......is. I was merely pointing out the product of simple subtraction. I NEED to remember to stay out of the political section of this site. I forget sometimes that it's full of venom spitting snakes.
Mike
topher5150 June 3rd, 2009, 05:39 PM it seems that our savior likes to say things with out taking the time to actually get all the details.
foxpaws June 3rd, 2009, 05:40 PM Sorry Mike - they get to be in piranha mode when I make a mistake... Oh well...
De-marko June 3rd, 2009, 05:48 PM :yuck: And this guy is the front man to lead this country.

I wasn't attacking you, I was continuing along your own line of reasoning. Don't be so paranoid.
fossten June 3rd, 2009, 05:56 PM foss - I saw my first 'real' Palin 2012 bumpersticker today - complete with the campaign disclaimer line...As usual, you try to counterpoint, use a falsehood, and then ignore your own 'faux pas' by trying to deflect.

I owned up to my mistake - and it was a mistake - if you look at wiki - I just got the columns mixed up, I apologized and fixed my mistake.
I will even agree here with Cal - bad timing, bad mistake, and why isn't he going to Asia for this meeting. I think it is wrong all around.
Yes it was a faux pas - I do make them often- therefore my 'name'...
Aside - thanks shag - I really appreciate this little bit being out and about, because I knew it would bite me sooner than later... Here - sooner...
As far as the bumpersticker-others were talking about the fact that they are looking forward to the next election - I thought you would find it interesting that I saw a Palin sticker that seems to have some clout - or at least a campaign reference within it. It appeared legitimate.

Do you think I am so dense as to fall for your flash and distract tactics?
How about commenting on Obama's statement that we are a muslim nation? Do you agree or disagree? Was it a 'mistake' or did he mean it?
Calabrio June 3rd, 2009, 08:56 PM I will even agree here with Cal - bad timing, bad mistake, and why isn't he going to Asia for this meeting. I think it is wrong all around.
This is a very high profile, deliberate apology tour he's going on.
What does it say about him and his foreign policy team as they continue to make so many glaring errors?
The United States' Muslim population, by numbers or percentage, is modest.
Most Muslims ARE NOT Arab.
Egypt is not a free country.
The Muslim Brotherhood are one of the oldest radical, violent terrorist groups- and they've specifically been invited to the speech by the White House.
The list goes on and on. Following a week where he's reportedly told the Palestinians that they would make Jerusalem their capital and that he thought that the Iranian need for nuclear power was justifiable.
SoonerLS June 4th, 2009, 09:15 AM Why doesn't he ACTUALLY go to one of those muslim countries where they aren't all arab? Why not Indonesia? Why not India?
I don't know if it was a statement from the Obama Administration or just an analysts' opinion, but one of the reports I heard stated that they chose Egypt for two primary reasons:
it is more moderate than the other influential Arab Muslim countries; and
the form of Islam in Arab countries is more "evangelical" than those found in other Asian countries.
In short, the audience in Egypt is more likely to be receptive to the message, and if it "flies," it will more easily spread from Arab Muslims to others than it would going from south Asia to the Middle East.
Whether that's true or not, I have no idea, but that's what was reported.

cammerfe June 4th, 2009, 01:18 PM It's oft-stated that there are more people of middle-eastern extraction in the Metro-Detroit area than anywhere on earth except the Middle East. Interesting notion!?!

Seems to me fox has owned up to her mistake and is in agreement with you that this was a bad mistake at a terrible time. What more do you want from her?
luxuryrules June 4th, 2009, 01:41 PM Why doesn't he ACTUALLY go to one of those muslim countries where they aren't all arab? Why not Indonesia? Why not India?
Much as I hate to say it, I suspect it is for the exact reason alleged in the recent terror tape - because we contribute so much foreign aid to Egypt, they're somewhat of a bought audience and the administration knows Egypt will be more friendly to us than Indonesia or India.
fossten June 4th, 2009, 06:52 PM Seems to me fox has owned up to her mistake and is in agreement with you that this was a bad mistake at a terrible time. What more do you want from her?You might try reading the post in its entirety instead of jumping to her defense all knee-jerk. I didn't ask her if his timing was off, I asked her if she agreed with him.
foxpaws June 4th, 2009, 10:07 PM How about commenting on Obama's statement that we are a muslim nation? Do you agree or disagree? Was it a 'mistake' or did he mean it?
After checking the numbers I don't agree with Obama's statement that we are a Muslim nation. And if he is basing it on the 'numbers' as he stated in the article, obviously he is wrong. Whether it was a mistake (such as I made - a blond moment obviously ;) ), or if he meant it, I wouldn't know.
LeadFoot357 June 4th, 2009, 11:24 PM imo he's been wrong on just about everything he's done.. but what would it matter if he was wrong about EVERYTHING the majority of this country would still be kissing his pseudo-messiah @$$ on the basis that "no matter what he's better than bush, mccain is too old to live another 4 years, and oh yeah i would be racist if i didn't vote for him" dont get me wrong tho gotta give him credit for making it after lying about pretty much everything he said and going around highschools telling them about how he drank, smoked and snorted lmao
