astra_croom May 30th, 2009, 02:14 AM Hi everybody
my car is lincoln ls 2004 89375 mile
I want to remove the catalytic in my LS because I want better performance
my question is :
what happen if i remove it ?
and the technician Guy told me there is a sensors in catalytic
and me be a chick engine massage alert came on . it is true?
Frogman May 30th, 2009, 04:39 AM Lookie here (http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/search.php?)...
They are called catalytic converters, not catalyzes.
If you remove them, your car will blow up. Not really, but why don't you do some searching and learning first before you go tearing into your car.
I realize you're a n00b, hence I'm going easy on you.
Now, go search.
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 04:59 AM um...with his spelling do you think he's capable of using the search function???...here's a better solution, first go take some night classes and learn english, then after you know how to spell correctly try searching here and on google. i'm sure you can find answers on the internet very very easily. now my big question is, what the hell is peter performance? if you want peter performance try feeding your engine viagra.
Frogman May 30th, 2009, 05:09 AM um...with his spelling do you think he's capable of using the search function???
Probably not. But I've had a long sleepless night, and I was trying to be nice to him.
With his "accent", he's probably from India or Nepal.
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:12 AM i don't sleep any night lol...i'm not trying to be mean but seriously, peter performance?
Frogman May 30th, 2009, 05:15 AM I know, I know. Chick engine massage? Hell, forget the engine massage, I'll take a massage from a cute chick. The engine can get it's own damned massage.
But again, it seems this guy's English is not his first language.
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:20 AM ah, now that you said that i checked his other posts, he's not from around here. in that case, i take back what i said about night classes, get a translator or go to www.freetranslation.com type it in your language, then copy and paste it over here to make it easier for us. if i was posting on a saudi board, i would do that out of common courtesy.
astra_croom May 30th, 2009, 05:20 AM I found some words in google catalytic and catalytic
go to google and chick this link
what is the different between catalyzer and catalytic ?
catalyzer

Thanks TicTacTone for Suggestion !!!!
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:28 AM http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:Catalyzer&ei=HQohSo28BciJtge-ttSqBg&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title
and

Frogman May 30th, 2009, 05:30 AM Which part of catalyzes... eludes you? :D
He didn't say "catalyzer"
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:33 AM actually he did, in the title.
Frogman May 30th, 2009, 05:35 AM You should stop reading books just by looking at their covers. LOL
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:38 AM i don't read, i have hooked on phonics on video...i'm still working on the reading by myself part.
p.s. - if anyone in this thread is interested in buying these tapes when i'm done, shipping to dharan is free.
astra_croom May 30th, 2009, 05:51 AM Thank you for your responses, in fact, I want one to answer to my question, but unfortunately no one answered
I repeat my thanks to all especially for TicTacTone !
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:53 AM you are welcome!
Frogman May 30th, 2009, 05:55 AM Alright, skippy. Since you're not a native English speaker, here's the skinny:
You CAN have the Catalytic Converters removed. Because you have Oxygen Sensors before and after the converters, the computer will set a check engine light. This can be easily dealt with by getting a computer tune from a company such as say, SCT.
Your car will not perform a hell of a lot better (unless the cats are plugged).
You'll see a little better performance, but not enough to justify the cost of a tuner and tune.
Now, You may have to do some searching on the stuff you don't understand, such as SCT, but there's your answer. I suggest you google how the catalytic converter setup works on OBDII cars.
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 05:57 AM thanks for semi-correcting the title!
TicTacTone May 30th, 2009, 06:03 AM do you have any other mods to the car? if you're looking at this as your first "performance" (and i use that term loosely here) mod, then stop. collaborate, and listen. start with the basics, intake, cat back, etc. or get a tune your car and see how you like it, if you're not happy with it, then remove the cats and retune, but don't buy a tuner strictly for the removal of the cats, buy it to get better performance.
