topher5150 May 20th, 2009, 07:35 PM naah you pound that out LOL
Psychostang May 20th, 2009, 07:57 PM Yep, that's bad. What does the crank look like?
BAD97LSC May 20th, 2009, 07:58 PM crank is fine! but i still threw it away, its nothing but a boat anchor! the block has a small spot on the bottom of the cylinder where the rod rubbed it, but the block is still good too.
bryantaylor May 20th, 2009, 07:58 PM how did that happen?
unity May 20th, 2009, 08:16 PM That is sorta what mine looked like, except the crank was moving slow enough to jam up against the piston. I had to remove the piston before I could turn the engine over.
Mine was hydrolock. I am guessing this could have been but I am betting something else.
BAD97LSC May 20th, 2009, 08:31 PM it was hydro locked, it had a bad headgasket for quite awhile and got so bad it just filled with coolant
Chadly May 20th, 2009, 08:52 PM Thats normal right?
BAD97LSC May 20th, 2009, 10:02 PM yes it is, pieces of piston floating around in the crank case and custom bent EAGLE rods are the SHIZZZZZZ
96mark8 May 20th, 2009, 10:54 PM yes it is, pieces of piston floating around in the crank case and custom bent EAGLE rods are the SHIZZZZZZ
yea i heard it adds up to 50hp lmao
kustomizingkid May 20th, 2009, 10:55 PM Oooops.... hahahahaha
altitude_19 May 21st, 2009, 04:26 AM Ah, yes. The new "C-rod". Sure wish my 95 came with those fancy top-end components, but I just wasn't willing to spend the bills and ended up with the plain old-fashioned straight rods. DAMMITALL! :D
96hotrodlincoln May 21st, 2009, 08:12 AM One more reason why cast parts suck!
lscmkviii May 21st, 2009, 01:39 PM Wow that hurts!!!
foxlincoln May 21st, 2009, 10:04 PM looks like the hydrolock bent the rod and made it shorter and crank counterweight clipped the piston.I took apart 96 cobra engine with same problem. It bent #4 and broke #8 and the rod cut a grove in the block
foxlincoln May 21st, 2009, 10:06 PM btw something has to give since water does not compress

Jamie, When you pointed out to me on Sunday the hydrolock bent rod, I was wondering if you would take a picture of it and put it on L/C, you did. You did a great job on my 1996 MK VIII headlights. Ken
BAD97LSC May 23rd, 2009, 01:23 AM hey thanks Ken, sorry it only took 4 months to get you to my shop lol!!
