My Wipers have a 3 hr erection!! Need attention!mespock February 14th, 2005, 10:45 PM Ok it was raining today and while driving the Mark VIII my wife said that she heard a klunking noise and then when she would turn the wipers off they would go down then go to a total erect postion. If that is the case you will need to replace the motor. Not a difficult job, but a PITA. What will I need The older ones had a different plug arrangement than the newer ones. Not enough older cores were being returned(I wonder why - Ford's core exchange & tracking sux) so the newer motors had to have different harness plugs. IIRC the older was a two plug variety and the newer had one plug. When you get a new one the harness plug is included to splice in place on the OEM harness. At least that's the way I remember it. Also be aware when I replaced mine the park assembly came with the new motor. I have heard some that did not!? Take out the old motor. Take it to the store with you(dealer parts or national chain). Make sure you check all this before you leave the counter. :wrench | |||||
