i need a new converter

OK ladies, my TC is getting worse all of the time, locking up in 3rd, not wanting to unlock, surgeing, and so on.

so now i have a choice to make. i don't track the car, its just a really fun daily. and short of me finding a cheap t-45 laying around, i need to buy a TC very soon. i have narrowed it down to 2 choices. reman 03 marauder converter from ford, or a dacco 3500 stall. there is only a $90 difference, so price doesn't matter.

don't suggest any other converters, just one or the other. if i wanted to spend $900, i would be doing a 5spd swap with a good clutch.

I'd go for the Marauder unit, it's a solid reliable OEM part.

I wouldn't put a Daaco or Precision industries in my car...

Just FYI, I voted for the hookers, preferably 2 at one time. :shifty:

Hookers and blow.

Or, if you've already got enough of a hooker budget... On a fun daily that won't see serious power, I wouldn't be overly concerned with what brand converter you put in. I'd throw whatever 3500 stall you feel like in there.

If you have the money, i'd go with one of the dirty dog units. People will say they are a little pricey but i've seen them run and they really are nice converters.

If you want a low buck converter get the dacco. I have been running that in my mark for some time now NO ISSUES. It's handled the nitrous and lots of track time. If your worried about what people think of your parts then get a high $ part. All I know is the dacco units work good. The 3500 is the same I'm using. ITS FUN!!!!

Would you put one in instead of a dirty dog?

Sean's car launches hard for not really having much in the way of mods. I have a Circle D 3500 TC and am very happy but if you don't want to spend much cash try the dacco. And PI is over rated I wouldn't spend money on them.

For cost on a daily driver, the Maurauder converter is the best choice.

well, just bought this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACC-AODE-4R70W-NIGHTSTALKER-BOSS-HOG-Stall-Converter_W0QQitemZ170145454545QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item279d75 99d1&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116

its basically right between the 2 stalls i was looking at, should be great for my daily driver.

I'd put just about any converter in my car before a DD unit... even an Ebay special one...

The converter I have is for a stock Mark. Simply bolt it in. The car drives great around town it has lock up. It may not be the best but it does make the car alot more enjoyable to drive on the street. Not to mention like Rich said it launches real good for a lightly modded car.

I hope your decision works out for you.
