Affirmative there Ghost Rider! Question for you though. What makes you think your differential "blew" and what are you going to be using for gears? Usually any failures on an open diff are gear related and with the amount of miles your car probably has, the gears are probably worn anyways.

sorry, It has 74k on it, makes noise, plug has alot of metal on it, I know it's probably the bearings, but since I'm there I want to put a LSD in, and yes I'll be using my old gears.

That'll do! Just inspect your gears when you are doing the swap to check for worn/chipped teeth.

Well, too late I had to go, and I bought it. But for the future there is a store on LVC? Also they had it in stock so next Wed I can go back to my parents house and istall it. Any tricks I should learn before getting ubder the car?
Also why would I change the gears? (I have 5spd manual)

P.S. For now I have a rental nissan altima hibrid drowe 150 miles and it's not even on 3/4 yet, it is also pretty responsive even on the high way.

Opps, one more question, At my work we got a repo that has 2 cup holders instead of one but it's auto not manual, do you think it will work? Also is there any point to take the trunk sub box, the original Alpine one?

That's for an 8.8 though right? The LS has an 8.0" rear end.

You tell us that we can get 4:10's, and you will make some money, my friend.

+1 Max.... If you know something I don't you're going to be raking in the dough, I'll put in an order if you have an LSD with the 4.10s or 4.30s.

yes the carrier will swap over on a gen 1, but you have to reuse the stock ring gear and pinion from the 8.0. i have an 8.8" limited slip installed right now, but have to use my 3.31's.

Yeah, this was big topic read last year. If you have a Gen 2, then you will need to repalce the pumpkin and axle shafts with the Gen 1 styke to make it work. Some also put a 8.8 mustang cobra pumpkin in and it worked great. I sure that you can doa search and find it, but it is a lot to read.

only gen 1's are direct swap. the carrier in the gen 2 looks a lot different. in the gen 2, one end of the carrier is slid into an opening, then the other side is bolted down with the bearing cap. the gen 1 has the bearings/caps on both ends like the 8.8.
