Quick question concerning a 2001 V6, 121000 miles. Been having a rattling noise under the car for a month or two, put up on jack stands while running and the passenger muffler is causing the rattle. amount of exhaust from the drivers side is more than the passenger side, the car runs very smooth and is not throwing any codes, the pipe between the cat and muffler heats up, but the pipe after the muffler does not get as hot as the drivers side pipe. this is not a performance car, do not want a $700 exhaust system. what are the best options to replace the muffler or mufflers to keep it stock?
Thanks in advance.

You can go to an exhaust shop and have a performance catback made for around $350.

i think i might be calling the resonator the muffler. it is the 17.5" round pipe just the before the X pipe.

H Pipe. And yes, that's the resonator. Just have them put in a glasspack, but reversed, so the baffles don't magnify the noise. Those are what, like 15 bucks a pop?

Great pic. If only the bearings were a little more dirty it would be more realistic. But, it was certainly good enough to get me laughing.
