What usually happens when a coil is bad? Will you car still run if a coil goes out?

It will run rougher then normal. But it migh be so slight that you won't even notice it.

your check engine light will flash,indicating that a misfire has ocurred..becareful!!dont drive it for too long or you will melt the catalytic(spelling?)convertor..not fun
